  1. different dogs for different jobs
  2. not all become secruity guards at marks and spencers....some join the infantry and enjoy doing countless tours as a front line solider ,then go on to other things and then leave after they have done their time and go on the circuit and earn 100k not bad for some simple ex- para reg mong ? but then not all are suited to solidering and some like being a frontline brickie.
  3. caught a few red stags up the north of scotland in late 80s ,their a lot smaller than ones down south, they have a slower running style to the eye than say fallow ,but they travel just as fast if not faster ,the fastest recorded british animal is a red stag (well it was last time i read guiness record books)
  4. Did a lot of hunting up Toms in late 80s, them dogs use to catch some stuff.
  5. Who told you that? My own eyes... fallow arent one of slower species take it from me mate,,,,sika yes yes sika are but fallow are slower than say, roe, CWD, and maybe munti, would you not say? talking preban here....sika are slowest, never run cwd (but heard they more wind than roe) but i would say fallow faster than roe....but i wouldnt say they much between them, then you have small fields big fields ,would a roe be faster in small field and would fallow be faster in big ?i dont know never really looked at it if im honest ,allways thought roe slower because
  6. Who told you that? My own eyes... fallow arent one of slower species take it from me mate,,,,sika yes
  7. I rarely see reds this time of year .. should start seeing a few hinds around june time onwards .i will post some pics in a min yes please some more of your red deer pics..
  8. Take a good dog to pull a sika preban
  9. good dogs are born ,but its the work and how you go about it that makes them good or should i say better, you could give a world beater to a clown and he would ruin it,where you could give a average dog to a good dog man and he would push it to his full potential and further.
  10. both my dogs will do this mate,i know some dogs will never do this but a lot of it is taking dogs out 5/6 nights a week ,....also some of my best numbers have been on full moon without lamp
  11. I agree with you mate, some dicks spoil it though by turning up fields, I like to drive, park sensibly, then walk the fields up,then move on in car to next spot always leaving it as I found it " minus it's varmints" haha, you do get more runs for ye dogs this way, always someone to spoil most good things though, Yes mate i use to think that about boys in motors and using them to help dogs and smashing everything up and ruining it for everyone ,but there are some tidy boys around who dont,
  12. i have walked all my lamping years ,but in last 3 months started going with some lads in motor who dont drive through fences and open and shut gates and i got to admit for putting game in front of dog you cant match it by walking .
  13. I think back to when i started at 13 with ferrets ,think i went 9 months from starting before i caught anything lol....we would go from 5am till dark and walk miles with just the stolen milk inside us lol ,and at best catch 3/4 rabbits.....i then got a terrier and went on to other things ,and then a lurcher and by the time i was 17/18 i was hunting all quarry......but i still think when i was 13 were some of my best times ..........i feel old now lol
  14. No matter where You go I will find You and drag You back kicking and screaming nice top mate.....
  15. i been lamping lately with lads from down south..,great lads ....but the one martin keeps taking me on my own to a burger van half way through night and theres loads of strange men there in assless trousers ? should i be worried by this ?
  16. That buck is in velvet...,Them deer are in summer as thier coats too light in colour for winter ,go lot darker come sept/oct even with spots still showing.....and the young deer is big giveaway lol.
  17. that was quick lol Yeah I'm not bad on the comp and plenty of other things, I'm multi-talented. and you like dogs mmmmmm my type of girl lol
  18. intelligence 9 out 10 type in malamute and find out ARE MALAMUTE`S NOT PRONE TO HIP DISPLAYSIA??? IN FACT WAS A TEAM OF MALAMUTE`S NOT ENTERED IN THE IDITAROD SLEDGE DOG TRIAL & FAILED TO COMPLETE THE RACE? SIBERIAN HUSKIE`S ARE COMMON AROUND MY AREA BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN 1 THAT WAS ALLOWED OFF THE LEASH IN PUBLIC. HOWEVER TO EACH THEIR OWN & THEIR COAT WOULD BE A BONUS GIVEN THE WINTERS WE ARE HAVING Breeding dogs with complimentary body types usually produces healthier offspring. Mutts tend to out live the pure breeds they were parented by and don't have the health defects found
  19. ..YOU BOTH LIVE FOR LAMPING AND ARE BOTH VAMPIRES ,HAVE A NIGHT OUT AND ENJOY THE DIFFERENT WAY EACH OF YOU LAMP AND THE DIFFERENT WAY YOUR DOGS WORK.....BECAUSE WHEN I COME HOME I WILL BE!
  20. youve been out with 3/4 dogs who started that age.....did they look f****d to you? No they are excellent dogs. I agree fully with taking young dogs out to learn and experiance, watch older dogs and get a feel. There is a lot to learn. But just dont think i would go out lamping with just a 12 week old pup and a lamp and plan to run game. I guess it also depends on the individual dog. Thats where common sence comes into it.....your not going to catch anything with just a 12 weeks old pup ....but they do learn going out with older dogs taking them out young ,even if its just getting
