  1. the bloke that brought the dog back surely knows who he bought the dog from ? Was he reimbursed? and he brought it back to the owner so IMHO someone very local took the dog and sold it very local but all thats been done to find it and nothing turned up Y.I.S Leeview glad he got the dog back all the same
  2. What impressed you so much about them? Y.I.S Leeview
  3. If you watch the dvd, a fistfull of ferrets more, with James bradly and co. you will see proper polecat high breeds on that, at the bigening of the dvd. G.I.H.the simple test would be if they reproduced then as I said earlier There are colonies of ferrets living and breeding in the dales in Yorks feral ferrets, polecat coloured, yes but not European Polecats Y.I.S Leeview
  4. OK so are you saying your ferrets were immune to a disease that wiped your pure and hybrids out? Hybrids now you can x canaries with finches, horses with donkeys easily enough, but their offspring are known as mules and are infertile and cant be bred from Many have made claims on here and other sites to owning these mystical X's wether Euro polecat or even mink X's but I have yet to see one that does nt actually look like anything other than a ferret in looks or shape? Someone must of got one that actually looks like the European polecat or the mink Y.I.S Leeview

  6. I used to exercise my dogs until they redeveloped it beyond recognition the sports stadium had a running track around what was eventually a rugby league pitch, now the groundsman seeded that (not the quicker turf method)the ground was prepared and seeded, watered nightly, NOT cut at all, when it was about 2"high it was covered with 2" of light sandy soil and reseeded, same process again and when that was up to the 2" mark they once again repeated the same process talking to the groundsman in theory there was 3x as much grass growing on the same ground to give a really thick luscious growth, th

  9. There is no such thing as common moorland(or any kind of common land)its all owned by someone hence his night from hell. I know the land very well all well keepered right up from Bolton Abbey(Duke of Devonshire's estate)right through Kettlewell,Arncliffe,Starbottom and on up to Buckden, just the one road in and out unless ou fancy going over Horsehouses? so its not hard to monitor what cars are about. Why put your car round the back of anywhere when you have permission to be there? You honestly dont think to let the local police force know your whereabouts may save you a lot of hassle hey? Do y

  12. Yes but we werent talk laguna, we were talking whippets in general.... lagunas are like a different dog.. ' lagunas are like a different dog" As in????? OK Laguna whippets were a kennel of show/coursing whippets that were very successful at both consisting of show champions and the very same dogs were top coursing whippets. Whippet coursing had very strict rules ie SIZE if they were over kc limits they could nt compete end of,so they were uniform in size and comparison to their opponents, no different, not bigger if they were they could nt compete simple as that and were no di
  13. He can now add English Derby winner 2010, to his CV. If he was your dog where would he go from here? the stud paddock or carry on his racing career? Y.I.S Leeview Good question mate and possibly one you wouldn't really be able to answer for sure unless you were Ray White [the owner]. Think i'd be talking it through with Charlie Lister [trainer] to hear his views but a crack at the Irish Derby would be an option. Fair answer Charlie Lister the maestro, Irish Derby win and then the stud paddock to see his days out not a lot more he could achieve if he did win it Good Luck

  16. If all the bulls are killed that enter the ring how do they breed to keep these lines going? Y.I.S Leeview
  17. simplest form;Line breeding is where both parents have the same grandparent, sire or dam Inbreeding: is a father daughter/mother son mating, giving the same topline as the bottom line in the pedigree Y.I.S Leeview

  22. Nothing wrong with my memory mate, believe me or not,I owned and bred them.I'm sure there are plenty of folk left that remember Abbot bros, they advertised weekly in the Exchange and Mart, their standard ferrets where £3 and greyhounds and "small specials" were £10 each. A mate of mine had a "small special" and it was the smallest ferret I've ever seen. I had some greyhounds which were bigger and as I described earlier, they were not starved, they were well fed on flesh. All you've achieved by calling the likes of me, an old codger and insinuating I'm a liar, is show your own ignorance and l
