Fair enough as I mentioned earlier also there are colonies of feral ferrets living in the Dales and I truly dont know how long they survive but they do Just another quick one While trapping you must also come across stoats and weasels now why dont these have tics on them as the ferrets on the same place pick them up no problem early season? Y.I.S Leeview As I mentioned in an earlier post,... I have trapped several, feral ferrets,..some white and some polecat marked,.. And,.they are completely different to the one that was seen in that DVD...I genuinely believe that few ferr

NO the drop boxes are on my permission, you did nt know what they looked like and asked me and then others to post pictures because you'd never seen them then your mate the keeper admits they do exist on your land but nobody without permission should be opening them is n't that so? Y.I.S Leeview Are you the only one wih permission on Graham's?

Good post chalkwarren for those who were fast enough to read it :clapper:you said the polecat was nt tested scientifically and that you have caught several feral ferrets in drop boxes but IYO this was a truly wild polecat, so if a ferret is left in the wild for whatever reason how long before it reverts to being wild? and the feral ferret kits bred in the wild would no doubt be shall we say unhandable/not domesticated In short any ferret making its way in the wild would have savvy up pretty sharp to survive and IMHO its character would change? I have prmission on a National Trust property due to the tennant holding the sporting rights ie has a syndicate on the place, any tennant of any land can give you permission to take rabbits its usually in their lease that they have to control vermin on the land they're leasing Y.I.S Leeview

Leeview, they were wild polecats. Ill talk to one of the lads that is in the dvd and try and get him to comment on this.. Why cant you except this, i still think you have somethings against these lads..... Shame, as they have some cracking ferrets and wild, polecat crosses.. Dan. I've known and ferreted with the lads on the dvd for over 20yrs so nothing against them just like evidence to prove not say so thats all Y.I.S Leeview

I'm well aware of the dvd and was the polecat confirmed/or just assumed to be a wild polecat? These well known respected lads made Coneycatcher2 as well on our permission in the Yorkshire Dales circa 1993 after several previous visits Y.I.S Leeview Yes, they said it was a true wild polecat and if you watch it, you can tell the way it runs off after release, that it is, a wild polecat. Also, you can tel, the first crosses they had, were true, first x wild polecat. For some reason , you don't want to believe it, i think their is more to this, then just polecats myself . To me, from

Hybrids are 50/50 and are incapable of reproducing on the whole due to being sterile, so very very difficult to get a low content hybrid. On this and the thread on black ferrets claims have been made to X's occuring in the wild others mention wild polecats being different to ferrets when caged? Would nt any animal bred in the wild be different having been captivated and restricted from roaming? Just because its been caught in the wild does n't make it a naturally occuring wild animal IMHO Can anyone provide absolute evidence of these X's taking place in the wild? Afterall crows and rooks,

If you watch the dvd, a fistfull of ferrets more, with James bradly and co. you will see proper polecat high breeds on that, at the bigening of the dvd. G.I.H.the simple test would be if they reproduced then as I said earlier There are colonies of ferrets living and breeding in the dales in Yorks feral ferrets, polecat coloured, yes but not European Polecats Y.I.S Leeview You meen British there is a. Diference cant recall anyone claiming they've crossed with polecats other than European Now was it English Nature who surveyed the Welsh Borders where there was supposedly still B

the bloke that brought the dog back surely knows who he bought the dog from ? Was he reimbursed? and he brought it back to the owner so IMHO someone very local took the dog and sold it very local but all thats been done to find it and nothing turned up Y.I.S Leeview glad he got the dog back all the same
