  5. Quite aware what winter fodder is but the fields in your picture have never been cut for fodder have they look at the rushes your dogs are going through bit high arent they and the land is too steep for a tractor and bailer to work those fields are grazed all year round not harvested As for my dogs and ferrets they work right through and earn their summer to recover oh and breed a litter of kitts 2 jills for next season how many have you bred tom? and how many dogs 3 oldest what 3yrs, one 18month both offered for stud the younger after one season of work and another pup how long before
  6. Im up there weekly Dell and at present the ground is far from spongey the sphagnum moss is dried and deep cracks are appearing in what used to be like walking across a waterbed it was that spongey, not hard to get big bags due to the numbers of rabbits up there but exerting dogs to several runs in the current heatwave shows little respect for the dogs and ferrets Y.I.S Leeview You do it your way Leeview , we do it ours , as for lack of respect for the dogs and ferrets that`s bollocks, these dogs have the desire and stamina to do it, we don`t run them anywhere near as hard as we do in

  10. So go on pray tell what crops these farmers are cutting for crops for winter cattle feed of them dales? your dogs dont injure their feet but the cattle get injured Y.I.S Leeview WELL LEEVIEW , WE ALL KNOW IN SOME PLACES A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF SUMMER POPULATION CONTROL HAS TO BE DONE , ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS NEW PERMISSION ........... HOWEVER ...................... I MUST ADMIT MY THOUGHTS WERE ALONG THE SAME LINES ............. I CAN SEE A ANOTHER THREAD COMING UP .... GUTTED .... JUST HAD MY YOUNG DOG OUT AND ITS BROKE A LEG ..... ..... WELL I NEVER WONDER HOW
  11. All 3 were a credit to the owner and a real pleasure to go over, didnt know the B.I.S was out of the same litter some runt it was like rolling a ball bearing round in your hand the parti coloured dog was a bit nervy but not once did he show any aggression and I feel he'll come good in time So overall some satisfactory results coming from the same lines that I knew nothing about till after the show and now your post Y.I.S Leeview
  12. thats what makes second hand/car boot sale steels best Y.I.S Leeview
  13. Tell the farmer that when there cutting crop for winter cattle feed and he is getting % less grass of his field than last year this farmer is well and truly peed off with the amount of rabbits hence why we are there this time of year, this is new permission and a quick impact needs making to keep permission. plus its not just crop its the digging causing injuries to cattle and damage to ground. Tom So go on pray tell what crops these farmers are cutting for crops for winter cattle feed of them dales? your dogs dont injure their feet but the cattle get injured Y.I.S Leeview

As for droid invite him up for a walk out and days ferreting his experience of working ferrets could be wrote round the edge of a postage stamp Y.I.S Leeview OK... that does nt answer my
  16. That is your choice. Personally after over 20 years of long netting I think you are makeing a mistake. All nets pick up twigs and leaves, some more than others, but the ones that pick up the most leaves and twigs also catch the most rabbits. Wait till you see the rabbits bouncing off the 6z, because the twine does not cling to the rabbit as it is too stiff. I would rather spend a little extra time cleaning a 4z that has caught most of the rabbits that have hit it. Than cleaning a 6z where the majority the rabbits have bounced off the net. TC Oh so true Y.I.S Leeview
  17. anyone else notice the gestation period 6weeks its between 28-34days but 31days is the normal gestation period it also mentioned myxi so cant of been that old well not to me anyway Y.I.S Leeview
  18. There was me thinkig it was a one day series 50 overs in which we are leading 3-0 best of 5 Y.I.S Leeview Pedant! You're right of course but nobody has ever gone 3-0 up on the convicts, whoops, loyal colonial boys, before. Whitewash is still on! Ric In truth we had 50overs and they had to try and beat us with 20 overs Seriously we have an up and coming young team thats still got pride and fire in their bellies long may they reign Y.I.S Leeview

  25. I'd be more inclined to go for Agouti nets Netloft the owner has had health problems of late, seen some appalling example of nets from JBS others may disagree If your going for rabbits my advice would be 4Z over the 6Z everytime Y.I.S Leeview
