The Feather Men - Ranulph Fiennes. Hard to start off with, but a real good read.
  4. How much is the bitch fella ?, I dont think you'll have a problem selling her. Looks in top nick with you as well. W.A.B You have PM
  5. Good on Ya fella, nice to see someone with the integrity to be more concerned about the dogs future home rather than making a few quid. I wish you all the best in finding him a good new home, I'm sure he'll find one. By the way, he's a CRACKING looking dog. Cheers W.A.B
  6. Oi Oi Rio, My lamping batteries are the sealed type, 12 volt 17 ah, make sure you get the charger that you can charge both standard 12 batteres ie, your car or similar, but also have a switch for a bike / sealed battery. I got mine from Halfords, about £25.00, but it'll pay for itself because it looks after your batteries old mate, and they dont come cheap these days, I have had the same two batterries for about three years now, and are used "quite frequently". Get a cheapy charger and it'll cook your batteries in a much shorter time. Enjoy. Still reckon that Bull bitch was a beaut !
  7. Croeso nol brawd! Glad to hear another has returned to the fold. Enjoy mate
  8. THATS AS NICE A LITTER OF PUPS AS YOU'LL SEE MUCKER, A CREDIT TO YOU, WELL DONE.
  9. Broke the handle on my old faithfull digging spade on the weekend, almost a family heir loom. Have welded an old steel shank on to head from another old shovel but not sure about the chicken shit pattern with my welding . Have seen loads in Builders merchants etc but they are too heavy without soil on them. Seen some advertised in EDRD, has anyone tried one? I'll just have to pinch one if I can't find a suitable replacement, as much as I'd hate to, you understand..............
  10. I had a dvd of the Gimp in action, I think I threw it out to finish. Big strong brindle dog, not much for coursing I dont think, but a roughish character, assuming its the same one that is.
  11. I'd have loved to. I used to race Frans Van Widermeersch (Gouden Beer, feathers and Potlood Duivin lines)and Busschaert ( De Kalkoen lines) funnily enough I bought a copy of squills this year for the first time in 15 years or so, I devoured it. I still miss them like mad to this day, but I find that what I learned on how to condition an animal/bird , and more importantly how to hold that condition, is of great use to me these days with my lurchers, same principal, plenty of good food, clean water, clean environment and exercise, plenty of exercise, with dicipline ( for fancier and birds alike
  12. Thats as nice a bull cross pup as I have seen fella, not to heavy in frame and well balanced, you should have a good time that beauty. Best of luck. Cheers W.A.B
  13. I tattoo all my dogs, and any of my mates dogs that want doing. National insurance number is a good idea, number only, if someone had your dog they'd have a t*@t of a job explaining that one to the plod. After doing the tattoo, get a piece of clear paper and put the actual tattoo needle print into the paper (assuming that its the plyers /puncture type tattoo)as well for your own records, then you have an identical copy for evidence should you need it.
  14. I dont know how many, if any of you fellow forums boys and girls get EDRD (most I suspect), but I thought I have to pay a compliment to one article in particular , by a forum member called Ginner (I think). Apparently this article won a prize on this forum at some point. We could all do with taking a leaf from his book before we decide to breed a litter of ANY working dogs. Well done for a really good article written Ginner, and good on Dave Harcombe for publishing it in EDRD. .Have one on me boys.
  15. Try Fortis insurance fella, cheapest I found for my Landrover (and Izuzu double cab), through the BASC magazine I found it. Best of luck. W.A.B
  16. Nice looking dog that fella As the old saying goes, It's not the size of the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog, technique wil out do brute force and ignorance every time. Well done, a good nights work.
  17. There's some real shitters about fella, I'll keep mine eyes open as well. Mid Wales Area.
  18. Hi Bob and welcome to the forum. Regards W.A.B
  19. Good Strong Healthy looking dogs there fella.
  20. Lactol milk powder, mixed up with boiled and then cooled water, as already stated, very little and very often. That c**t wants castrating that did this, name and shame the twat fella. I wish you all the very besdt of luck with him. Regards WAB
  21. Is this pup about the five week old mark?, is he drinking a bit more than normal ?. Had a similar sort of thing myself this tear, never had it before, kennels cleaned daily, pressure cleaned and disinfected regular, I was told it was some kind of e-coli in the gut, got some Synulox tabs from the vet, shit hot things, catch it soon enough and youve got a chance, lost one pup, the smartest in the litter, firkin typical !!. As a standard procedure with any sick dog ( or animal come to that), isolate him, as the man has said, control his environment. Good luck with the pup fella. W.A.B Jus
  22. Got to add my ten pence worth on this one, Dave Harcombe is a genuine a fella as you'll get. He deserves a medal for getting EDRD out every month, and his books, Once picked up I cant put them down, he's a very talented author, but more importantly, he's a fanatical dog man, his terriers are his life. He writes from experience. Keep at it Dave Welsh All Black
  23. There was a shit hot article in EDRD last year I think from a fella who keeps and works these dogs out in Ireland, wrote under the name of "Latharna", I think that was his kennels prefix. The title was Irelands Heavy dogs. I managed to speak to him over the phone one day, genuine fella, but going on what he was telling me about the gameness and agression of his Wheatens anyway, why would you want to first cross them with a Bull ?, I love bull crosses and only keep that cross of various fractions, but bull crossed into a running dog is spot on, cant beat it in my opinion, I would think that th
  24. Roberto Durant, Hector "The Macho Man" Camacho, Tommy "The Hit Man" Hearns, Marvellous Marvin Hagler, Tyson, Benn, theres so many good ones been, But Steve Collins from the Emerald Isle would scrap till the cows came home. I wonder how some from the U.F.C would fare against some of these boxers, Chuck liddell for example, he can f**kin' hit!!
