  1. I've always favoured bitches just my preference... Seen some cracking dogs as well but just seem to gel more with the females
  2. Ok bit of a controversial subject this one that needs a bit more scrutiny. There's been a lot of comments made about seeing the parents work before you buy. Now there will be some lucky devils that have first hand knowledge of the parents of a litter and know if they're the real deal or not. But what of the lesser mortals who have no knowledge of the parents save what the owner tells you. Lets examine the rationale and the practicalities of traveling often great distances to see the litter. Well if it's the summer what do you do after a few hours on the road. Do you "a" insist on waiti
  3. Culling his a and has been a major part when breeding dogs for type work or ought for that matter ,small weekdogs with obvious signs of defects and for that matter when breeding pedigree types some get throw backs to dogs in the make uo of the breed and have no place in the type .usually bitches are kept for preference ,the very best stud dogs only then need to bebred on from .with all types pedigree and types we sometimes see deletrious effects coming to the fore, then culling needs to take place or should i say should take place the pedigree dogs of some types have a very small gene pool so
  4. But surely if you only breed from the best avaiable you won't need to cull....they'll be knocking down your door for a pup.....surely??????
  5. Listen technique will get you further than fitness some dogs have a natural catching ability while some can make it look hard work. I entered my dog in the lamping comp a couple of years ago against another member in here. His dog wiped the floor with mine and when my son asked him about it's fitness regime he told him it was basically just of the couch no prep, no long hard fitness routine just natural ability.
  6. Where you from mate? As said epiphone and yamaha have reasonably priced acoustics from around £50 some bargains to be had in cash converters....I picked up a nice epi in Elgin last week £50 well pleased with it
  7. Well thats your opinion, in mine if more people culled there would be a lot less in rescue centres, dumped, sold on the merry go round and alot less shit out there If we could only apply that to owners as well as the dog maybe things would get better. Patience is sadly lacking in the majority of lurcher owners. I've never understood why folk would take on an adult dog before rearing a pup as always there's the exception to the rule but these are few and far between. In my view there's more bad owners than bad dogs. Lurchers are meant to be versatile I think if your only into quarr
  8. Full of shite you've invited a few folk up to yours recently and did it free gratis......and whoever you paid for your learning you should give them a call and ask for a rebate. Your right it has nowt to do with me what you do but given this is an open forum and your posting your usual bullshit I reserve to right to comment you don't like it don't post......simples!
  9. I would never take on a dog I hadn't reared myself. I know there's exceptions to the rule but unless you Have seen the dog work your only taking on someone else's problems in 99% of the time best to start with a pup imo
  10. Someone who sticks 3 big hobs down a small warren and wonders why the bunnys wont bolt....someone who lets his dogs stand over the top of a burrow while said hobs are in the warren. Someone who talks shite and bigs themselves up and thinks they're better than others, and someone who's posts need the enigma machine to make sense of...any of this sound familiar
  11. Fecking get over yourself matt a young lad asking for a day out and you want to charge him your whats wrong in the dog world these days you have an over inflated opinion of yourself and everything to do with hunting. Its f*****g boring now I know its hard for you but if your nothing constructive to say sometimes its better to shut the f**k up.
  12. Lol you beat me to it Simon....he's like f*****g Alan whicker....it's a measure of the man and hi dogs that he's asked out as much one of the good guys methinks
  13. Yeah remember it well mate all you had to do was send your certificate if you wanted a shotgun different times. Incidentally coca cola in it's original form was used to clean rust from aeroplanes Due to the corrosive affect it had.... Wonder how much impact it had on teeth lol
  14. That's a bloody good capture mate any of the top photographers in here would be pleased with that well done
  15. I've held on to two dogs with serious injurys the first came good and despite her injury continued to work into her dotage. The second was a more serious injury resulting in the loss of a leg. Truth be told if I hand the necessary equipment with me at the time I would have sent her on her way. Managed to get her to the vet and after spending a lot of time and money she recovered. I tried taking her on walks with the other dogs but usually ended up carrying her home. It became harder to take her with me and less hassle to leave her in the pen. The worst part was going lamping as she wou
  16. After a long debate Whine just shades it over the other two....he's been signed up for Scotland's version of deadliest catch. The crew followed him for a day in his lobster boat....they had to give him two barrels of red diesel before he agreed....after two hours the camera crew had to be airlifted as they were threatening to jump overboard if no-one came for them. Whine came back six hours later with two cod and old welly and an asda shopping trolley.
  17. We've all been there if it was easy there would be none left. Sometimes with young ferrets they won't go to deep and even when you know they're in there the ferrets don't have the gumption to move or find them...that's when a nice big experienced job is handy. ATB
  18. Yep, i turned down Oz in 2006 France or the highlands look good!!! You would need to wear a kilt hunt haggis and learn to speak like Rab C Nesbitt wear a see you jimmy hat and drink buckfast before your considered a suitable candidate
  19. Frazier also said with a smile on his face on national american tv when Ali lit the olympic torch in 96 shaking like a leaf with parkinsons.. i did that to him .. Ive always felt Frazier was one of the gamest fighters ive ever seen, mainly due to his come forward style...........but as a human being i think he,s always been a very bitter and poisonous man......that said.....its still a shame to see a legendary boxing figure like him in such a bad way. He never forgave Ali for the Uncle Tom jibe there was definitely no love lost between them. Agree it's a pity when great fighters bec
  20. Children were left sad and upset last night as Bradford had to cancel it's annual panto "jack &the bean stock" apparently the giant couldn't smell the blood of an englishman.

You f****d up the lamping comp then bragged you would organise the mother of all comps and we ended up with nada. I've said it before you or your dogs ain't half as good as you think they are. One last thing if your so against guys taking pics of their catches why do you keep an album yourself.
