We've had em with pheasant's in there release pens and on there own roaming around the yard Pete. if I'm honest though there the adults never really get very close to you there always in the back ground waiting if you know what I mean.

What about using garden solar lights. They'd charge there selfs up in the day you'd just have to make sure there powerfull enough

To dubb a bird legally it has to be dubbed with in 72 hours of hatching.As for the best time to do it remember a chicken doesn't moult until its 2nd season. So with in 72 hours at least your not breaking the law.

I do know that in the last few days the pheasants aren't feeding as well as they have been. There's beech mass and acorns everywhere and with the wind this weekend theres gonna be even more.

I'm afraid the RSPCA want F##king for this. They F##k about with peoples lively hoods when all they are is a poxy charity. Good look with getting your dogs back but i'd be seeking legal advice and be fighting them all the way. -

A lot of our land is sssi we shoot, stalk and do what ever we want and its all part of natural England. There more interested in the oaks,insects and bats ,more then anything. All land have different rules make sure you read all agreements and contracts especially the small print.

Lighting For Freerange Outdoor Roosting Birds

Gain your daylight in the morning have lights set up on a timer. If it gets light at 7am set the lights to come on at 4.30am and then as soon as its light set the timer to turn them off. Then as I said in a different thread your birds will still roost because it'll go dark gradually. A couple of halogen yard lights directed on to the pen should do the trick. -
If you've limited room why not stick to keeping 1 sort. Then you can have more of that breed. I'm not a fan of indoor cages but I know a few people who use them to good success. if your keeping them indoors have them on shavings cleaned out regular and the good thing is when you turn out the lights they stop crowing. Mine only have to see a torch light and they start but I've no neighbours so it isn't a problem. The thing is in winter the ground soon gets shitty and it never dry's out until spring.

My brood pens are on artificial light. Starting November I have Lcd hospital lights in my pens they'll come on at 4am on a timer and go off mid morning this way you'll find they go to roost in the evening when it starts getting dusk if the light goes off all of a sudden the birds would spend the night on the floor.

I've a 9 year old hen what has produced 23 youngsters this year and shes still laying. if shes a good producing hen hang on to her until you've replaced her with something as good or better. You've heard the saying there like hens teeth to find.

I heard it all. Mayweather is pass it he's slowed down alverez is younger, stronger and faster then mayweather. I stayed up to watch I must admit I didn't like mayweather as a person years ago but as the years progressed I don't think you'll find better. His ring craft defence and boxing brain is second to none. Alverez is 1st class in his own right but had no answer to mayweathers defence and by the looks of it he knew from Rd 5 he was a beaten man.He had upmost respect for Alverez in the interview afterwards what's always good to see.
