    Not to keen on giving a jill loads of grub when she's nearly due as if they were in the wild they wouldn't catch as much grub and i reckon to much grub might lead to large kitts and birthing problems ,but after the birth little and often and plenty to drink

    At present i've got double the amount of water bottles i need and use a bit of chain from a sink plug half full of water and a couple of shakes and there clean again

    mine take great delight in digging at the bottom of the bowl till they move it and empty it .My son reckon's a poultry drinker is the way to go but as there plastic i reckon the ferrets will trash one in a week .

    Got to dissagree mine have grub 24/7 and id like to think they hunt for fun not because there hungry and they will eat a rabbits eyes out every time they bottle one up then start on the back of the neck

    Fair enough if thats what you believe But i believe when i put my ferrets to ground they have a collar on and if they stick mark or whatever i expect to dig them out .And as we do rabbit control all year round i have a free supply of food for my ferrets

    Ive a hob and a jill in a hutch and the screams but there from the hob the jill keeps trying to drag him into the sleeping compartment .They will settle down though its just her mothering your hob kitt as her hormones are all screwed up .

    Had them got to 12/13 but by that time there retired and see out there lifes eating and sleeping least i can do as they have worked hard 3/4 times a week for me

    A young rabbits a couple of weeks old is ideal because your just feeding the jill the kitts will only be sucking the meat till there a bit bigger and you can increase the size of rabbit your putting in last year i was putting two whole rabbits a day into a jill with kitts . Thats the good thing about trapping just now you got a use for the young rabbits you catch and you only get a bit of fur left in the morning so there not much bother with flies
