  1. My thought are roughly the same about Mckay ive spoken to him a couple of times at the midlands and he comes across as a bit of a knob but he knows his stuff .But nothing's ever written in stone in the ferreting game
  2. Very nice bag of rabbits there
  3. Some folk might think there okay feeding them in the evening during the summer time compared to dry food probably works out about the same price wise
  4. Just reading some of the back posts on here i wasn't sure if some folk where using them as a odd treat or the main part of there ferrets diet but i wont use them .Ive a freezer full of rabbits and when i get near the bottom i will top it up by lamping and the odd crow or pigeons from a days decoying
  5. Found this on James Mckay's Ferret keeping video i knew there was a good reason for not feeding day old chicks They lack calcium and that can cause hypocalcemia and this effects the bone growth so if they are fed to pregnant or nursing jills then the young can be totally deformed and cant walk around properly and they don't have feathers it is fluff and it can aggrivate the mucus membrane in the throat.
  6. Do you think farmers will pay folk to use them on big burrow /problems area whats the going rate for a day with a Rodantor .And most amateurs need the bag of rabbits at the end of the day to help with costs etc
  7. A young rabbit is a fine sized meal for a jill with small kitts ,till the kitts get to 4/5 weeks weeks of age and can polish off a full grown rabbit or two in a day
  8. Ive been putting garlic flakes in the water bowls in the run and i cant remember the last time i saw a flea on one of the dogs but they still get the odd tick
  9. These clowns see there animals as children substitues like briteny and paris hilton then wonder why the animals crack up and bite them F*cking looneys
  10. How do you work that one out? They are just out the egg and killed never had time to build muscles etc so whats there food value NONE plus the fluff can irritate the ferrets throat
  11. Just getting rid of the weak and dead
  12. Nice set up and got to agree with posted coments
  13. Wont let me see the picts as im not a memember
  14. Nearly totally usless for food value just a egg in a bit of fluff okay for a odd treat or feeding one day out of seven
  15. My sons trying that this year where half filling old dog food bags with horse muck then as the tatties's grow where topping the bags up with the compost from grow bags .Just watch the potatoe leaves if there not a nice green colour there lacking some thing and give them a liquid feed of the stuff for tomatoes
  16. The one on the right looks like some set of horns ,Do you get medals for goats horns ???
  17. The way i would go about it is snare it they work 24/7 but you should have permission and know how to use them .
  18. 2x2 usually plenty for a frame using bigger wood your biting into the ferrets space
  19. Where do you toe the line with all the extra's you take??? .My favourite type of ferreting is a few nets or the shotgun and a ferret and keep moving and if a ferret gets a couple of rabbits in a dead end or a rabbit moves as you break into the tube i use a bramble and just leave a few thorns on the last six inches or a stick .But i only use them to check theres a rabbit there by getting a bit of hair on the stick or the brambles them i will dig a bit more and pull the rabbit out .The old barbwire trick was best used when liner ferrets where in use but i think its rarely used today
