  1. Years ago i lost a few old jills to old age and so not to be short of ferrets i took in a pet ferret planning to bred from her and keep the young . It was a good job she never came into season as she was the most usless ferret iv'e ever seen sheonly ate dry grub and never went down a hole .There can only be one type of ferret for me bred from worker to worker ,I prefer a good sized jill that has the pace for a full days ferreting nothing too small the rabbits pull it about and nothing to big iv'e to dig more than i have too as if a rabbit wont bolt i know my ferret will kill it
  2. Nice a rabbit culled just nows worth about 100 by the end of the summer
  3. Nice one mate i like a good solid box i can sit on if there's a break in the ferreting but i like a nice bow back as well to sit on my hip getting a fussy bugger as i get older

  6. Same thing happened to me opened the hutch one morning jills all in a heap with 3 pinkies squirming about the hob was booted out lying sleeping in the run ,Took the pinkies out and checked the jills over and found the one with blood under her tail and popped her in a wee hutch with her young . Hope thats all the live tadpoles he had
  7. Still do the rabbits all summer as the freezer needs filling but try to do a farm a month so the rabbits are 3/4 grown dont wanmt to be killing them any smaller
  8. 50 notes for a service and the might sting you for a £10 handling charge.
  9. Dont think i could hand rear them think i'd try fostering them on another jill though
  10. No being funny but why pay a £10 for a hob all folk are going to do is wait a few weeks and they will be picking up youngsters for free when there eating there breeders out of house and home
  11. I reckon you will get some albino's and polecats and a lot of sandies .I dont plan to breed my jills but last year when i was swapping them between the snipped hob and my complete hob i wasn't as smart as i thought but they all found good homes from folk on this site
  12. Seems very quick for her swelling to come down in 5 hours though

    nets

If your ferrets on the rabbits tail they will bolt into any coloured nets
  14. Your right into your extreme ferreting nice result
  15. You want to ask whover bred your ferret what they where feeding them on and feed them the same,it will be a big enough shock getting seperated from the rest of its litter mates and put in new surroundings with out changing the grub as well
  16. We mainly use purse nets and only use the long nets on one piece of ground ,you just need to be a bit more quieter walking over the berry putting nets on the holes but they pick up the hole hoppers that the longnets dont
  17. Does it help to place some of there stools in a litter tray then place in which corner of your court you want them to use ???
  18. If theres plenty room in the sleeping area it should work out alright but are all the jills due roughly the same time as if theres a big time differnce you might lose the smallest kitts
  19. Trap the burrows and snares there working 24/7 for you and if its near the motorway they wont stop there cars to lift your traps etc
  20. When ive had two of mine together and ones had kitts and the others not due for a week or so there not been a problem but maybe the maternal instincts kick in .It might no work out if your second jills not preggers ,You can only try it and see and still time to get a second litter out a jill if the worst happens
  21. This might help you but i think they might be a bit big for you I bought two pair of fox trousers From The Sportsman Gun Centre £9.99 a pair but they stung me for £6.00 P+P only thing is they only had 3xl left elasticated waist so i just put a belt round them to hold them up .The only bad point ive found is theres studs on the large pockets on the thighs and ive had these ripped off already caught them on wire and the pulled off but for a ten spot
  22. Just a thought but im sitting looking at a advert for meat for feeding the dogs and a box of minced tripe is £6 That 25 pence a pound in old money is that not better than doc ?????
  23. Its a mk1 but there where 11 type's of mk1 produced before they brought out the mk2 and it was such a disaster the mk3 followed soon after
  24. During febuary and march i finished up ferreting using jills that where fully in season didn't do them any harm if your worried maybe wash there bits after youv'e knocked off for the day
