As you say, the CZ's are a touch 'military' in their looks and build, they do shoot well though I hasten to add before being attacked by irate owners. Accuracy is not a problem with them. I would go for a Ruger if I were in your position, stylish, accurate, 'big gun' looks, and well made. Ring Viking Arms and ask for a catalogue.

The Hatsan, and the Webley and Scott are both made in Turkey, probably in the same factory. Webley and Scott have not made shotguns in this country since 1979. As has been suggested, I would buy a second-hand Beretta or similar, you will get a reasonable one for the same price.

Proofed .223 Mod on a .243 - Yes or No?
bobndog replied to steveff1353's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Simple one to resolve without buying another moderator. The Predator 8 use inserts for various calibres, buy a 243 insert. See; http://www.wildcatrifles.co.uk/sound_moderators.htm -
As has been said, A young person cannot buy a shotgun or its ammunition until he is 17. Check it here; http://www.basc.org.uk/en/utilities/docume...2B8C3A18D1BAAA2

complete novice question

That would appear to be the best place to poach deer, out of sight and with woodland to deaden the gunshot. -
complete novice question
bobndog replied to aaronpigeonplucker's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
It's a clearing in a wood, where you can shoot deer from a hide or high tower. -
It's not the noise that makes them run in, it's movement, stay under cover and don't pick them up until you have finished. In the evening I regularly shoot rabbits by sitting in my motor with a 223 It's usually possible to get two at least, they then run to the edge of cover and if they see no movement come out again within a few minutes. They take no notice of the motor if there is no movement associated with it.

i could be wrong i don,t think you can use full metal jacket ammo . like i said i could be wrong W.D CCI make FMJ, http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/product_in...oducts_id=73748 I would not recommend them, they ricochet worse than 22r/f. As has been said shoot them in the front end and throw the rest away if it's a problem, there is little meat forward of the saddle anyway. Any metal in a rabbit will not be a problem, most rabbits are shot with shotguns and will have 6-20 lead pellets in them, eating them is not harmful.

Place an onion and apple in the body cavity, also place a housebrick in the oven. When the goose is cooked, throw it away and eat the brick. I have tried several times to cook canadas, but they have always been as tough as old boots, but maybe I only hit the older slower flying ones?

And it's only cotton, so you will need a waterproof outer, otherwise it's a bargain!

Of course I have a good reason to carry the cut-throat razor, I was going to have a shave! The BASC site probably has the clearest information page on this subject; http://www.basc.org.uk/en/utilities/docume...7ED46C927D34652

Yep, I find that the 223 cases last the longest also, followed by 308, then 243 and with a very short life, 300 Win mags. I load as hot as pressure signs allow also, it gives the best accuracy in my guns.

Without knowing how much powder is in the case you can't say, depending on which powder it could be anything from a 35 grains to 50 grains load. Plus case, plus primer, plus bullet. Different makes of case vary considerably also, in fact cases from the same maker vary by several grains.

So the bottom knife, the Opinel with a 1-3/8ths blade is illegal because the blade lock open, the blue one with a 1-1/2" blade, is illegal because it's a disguised knife, but the top one is fine because it has a 3" blade and folds. Have I got this right before I pop into Tesco's?

Yep, that's about the size of it, sound advice.

And the really scary bit about knife law is; "Although English law insists that it is the responsibility of the prosecution to provide evidence proving a crime has been committed an individual must provide evidence to prove that they had a bona fide reason for carrying a knife (if this is the case). Whilst this may appear to be a reversal of the usual burden of proof, technically the prosecution has already proven the case (prima facie) by establishing that a knife was being carried in a public place. " So, it's guilty until proven innocent.

"Almost every professional review now is as positive as can be and you have to read between the lines to know when something's crap. Ultimately bad experiences and the publicity thereof are vitally important - without that, the Hatsan looks OK. With that, you take a second thought." I have an acquaintance who occasionally does these tests for a well-known gun mag, the tests are positive because the tester is usually given the test gun to keep. Who wouldn't give a positive test report? Re the Hatsan guns, I know several people who have bought them, some are happy with them, others are j

Drive with left hand, lamp with right hand, rifle on dash. Spot fox, out onto bonnet, drop bipod, lamp in left hand, rifle in right hand, bang! Or when using NV, use lamp to find fox, drop bipod, onto bonnet, bang! As the meercat says; Simples!
