thats what i was gonna say dont make it easy for them but write down the lines but at the time you dont think you will forget eh Seems to me the longer and more you breed your lines the more you forget ! lol

Do any of you terrier breeders on here keep detailed records of your matings/lines ? or do most of you leave it to memory ? the reason im asking is i myself keep kc parsons and keeping track of the breeding lines is easy,everything being recorded ie litters ,pedigrees etc. With working terriers there seems to be a lot of crosses used, if you dont keep detailed records how do you know what your line of terrier really is ? ( i know most will say it dont matter as long as they do the job they are bred for !)i just it very interesting,( the make up of terriers in use today). :search:

You have to ask what to do ? go and ask your mummy and daddy(after you get home from play school that is!)and they will tell you to give it back! Sad very sad, whale dung as a matter of fact!

a pur breed is a line or strain of dog bred in a closed gene pool and has bred to type for 7 generations in australia at least in the states they except dogs with a 3 generation proven pedigree. So in reality the show dogs with their closed gene pool are more "pure" than any off the working breeds!

It never ceases to amaze me no matter how many foxes are nailed their numbers never seem to fall back for long, nice lookin dog there mate, good hunting.

So basically what your saying folks is that there is NOT !! such a thing as a pure breed of terrier ! Thanks for the comments very interesting.
