  1. Well mate you are right its a good web site and I for one can assure you they do work their dogs as well as show them, they have working terriers in Finland France and several hunt kennels in the UK and here in Ireland just because they show at IKC shows does not mean the dogs are not good enough to work ask Eddie Chapman and Geoff Burnhill, you can catch up with them around the ringside at Crufts in March !!!! eddie chapman -- the man and his terriers have become a joke -- Why is eddie chapman and his terriers a joke ?
  2. Seems to be doin the job in Finland now though Maybe he just needed to mature a bit more, he was young when he was first tried !
  3. Any more pics,? would like to see what their heads look like mate, atb.
  4. The man that tried to work Bandit reckons he didnt like the dark !
  5. Dont think you win anything at those KC shows not even prize money better off sticking to the hunt shows eh they dont show their dogs for prizemoney, best in show in crufts is only 100stg last i heard, its about making a name for yourself, its the reason some puppy farmers in the uk show dogs, i could mention names but i wont, the more dogs you have in the crufts catalogue the more buyers you have for your pups, its also the reason show folk drive to the most remote small championship dog shows in the country, even why uk show-owners come over here to enter their dogs into shows in irel
  6. i used to have one of the leggy shit ones. worked well he did. 15 inches tts nice lookin dog mate found some pics
  7. The dog in Finland was worked for a while before going to the jappatin kennels where he made up to irish champion, nice lookin dog.
  8. must get a dig out fatpat as im old fat and have one bad knee,i reckon we could get them dogs tried rightly,do ya be south much with the dogs I dont drive myself mate so was depending on others,i more or less just get in the way now so dont bother much kegs mate,i was going to get into kc showing, thats why i got the parsons but found it very boring to be honest.
  9. i used to have one of the leggy shit ones. worked well he did. 15 inches tts The show standard for parson russell terriers is 14ins tts, most of them look more around 17-18ins tts and very long.
  10. Yes, a show kennel that also work their dogs.
  11. The Dooners do indeed hunt their terriers, and i know that they hunt with them in England, but i could not tell you where at or with who and they are indeed better known as a show kennel. My terriers are of the jappatin bloodline but i only do a wee bit of ratting sometimes, ( to old,to fat and the knees have gone !)the dogs they breed are smaller neater type than the normal leggy shit you see in the kc show ring,
  12. parsons are just jack russells reg with kennel club, so should work just like any other working dog, some good some crap!

  18. If a breeder was to start from scratch, say for instance using one stud dog with prehaps 10/12 unrelated bitches, would it be possible to produce a solid breed ? how far do you think you could line/in breed before an out cross would have to be brought in ? and would it be a dog or a bitch / what do you think gents ?
