I am going to a place this afternoon to put a stink pipe out for the foxes. Last time I went at night I saw 27 fallow on one of the fields. I am going to seriously thin them out shortly before they attract the wrong attention.

Well if you want more deer shooting you could also lease ground that has good numbers just as well as anyone else.

I had a call tonight from the chap that owns the caravan park and he said there is definitely a fox about. I decided to go to see if I could get a shot at it and my grandson wanted to come so I said ok. It was at the back of the chaps house and we set up as I normally do. The Jimny reversed back to the building and the caller set out at 40yds to our left. I started with rat distress and within three minutes a fox had run into about 70yds. Now last week I was checking zero on the 243 and I let him have half a dozen shots at the hardox fox target. It was set out at two hundred yards and he hit t

Good to see you back SL, I was only thinking about how you were going on the other day. I hope your sister in law makes a complete and speedy recovery. -

What a bloody mess! ?

I have used it since last September to compare it to the 204, but I think the Drone will be going back on the 204 for winter.

A couple of weeks ago I got a message from the owner of the caravan park that a fox was knocking about and would i go and sort it out for him. Well I completely forgot because I have been busy elsewhere with them. I suddenly remembered last night at 9.30ish and thought I had better go and see if I can catch up with it. I got there with my mate an hour later and set up. There are biggish foals and some bullocks on this field so it is a bit patchy on the grass. It is nicely grazed in areas but whispy long in others. There is a river that runs the full length of the field on one side. Half an hou

He can promise what he wants but you still have to hit them! ?

At the place where my mate missed a fox i have continued to bait and record the coming and going’s on a trail cam. When I checked yesterday I could see a pattern of movement between 10.15 and 11.30 with less regular and more sporadic visits up till 3.00am. I thought I would give it a try last night and seeing as it was only a small paddock i would try the hmr. The absolute furthest I would need to shoot would be 70 yards, so an ideal opportunity to try the Ruger on fox at a sensible range. I got into position at 9.45 . In front of me is a small triangular shaped spinney which is where I have b

We are getting 800 pheasants, 250 partridge and 250 duck. We start the second Saturday in November.

And what do you base that statement on?

That table and bench look a bit dry, you might want to give them a coat or two of oil. ?

Buffoon! ? I could of shot my mate tonight the useless f****r. It has taken me over two weeks to get a fox on the same place coming confidently to bait every night after the farmer shot at it with a 410.? Anyway he is back from holiday and we went to shoot it tonight. Sixty yards and he missed it.?

Out of seven, nine ran! ???

You could of got a green one!?

Well no actually we aren't just talking about gun work/hunting, we are talking about the versatility of different breeds. Labs are far more than just retrievers in the same way gwps will do a bit more than point. I have never tried it because i have never needed to but i wouldn't be surprised if i could get a lab to point. I have had lurchers that would point in the past so i doubt it would be too difficult for a lab to do. I am in two wildfowling clubs and i don't know of anyone with a gwp, i wonder why that is? In fact the only bloke i know that had one used it for marking game for his gosha
