It was only a small one at 6lb 9 oz, but fought well. I use 15lb line for my barbel fishing so i can get a hard, short fight and then release them with plenty of energy left. I don't like the idea of protracted battles on light line for such fish. Many years ago I used to sack all my barbel up to recover, but today I simply get them in quicker and release them straight away and they all swim off strongly....

Like I've said before, forget the protein level on the back of the sack, what is important is the digestable protein. IMO pups should be fat, give the pup as much as it will eat, and I don't think eggs do them too much good either. Plenty of raw meat with fat trimmings. I also feed raw gutted carcases or rabbits and ungutted squirrels, they love them!

I think it might be worth remembering that there is a whole world of difference between a feral pig and a wild boar.....

Nice trap is the 120-2 -
They're all chipped mate. Except the lurcher pup and he'll be chipped soon. Everyone I give pups to get a legally docked, chipped pup, and that's been for quite a few years now. For myself it's not worth the risk to be honest. But that's just me; we're all different.

Thats why the majority plan accordingly and act with a little savvy,no matter the law there will always be the grey area to work to,buying dogs outside of the UK,especially Eire circumnavigates the docking side of the argument, for now.The bigger picture is "THEY" wish to erode our hunting lifestyles and activities,if we allow them to then they will tread roughshod over the less resolute amongst us,lifetime bans are as much use as the rest of the ill thought out legislation,im banned from keeping a working mutt yet my wife, son, daughter, nephew or niece is not,how do i get around it then?.Its bet

People need to see the bigger picture. IMO it won't be long after the dog chipping law comes into effect that they will seize unchipped dogs. And any terrier or working dog that is unchipped will be seized as they will say that they believe it will be used for illegal activities. Buying dogs outside Uk doesn't matter one jot, as of next year it will be illegal to have un chipped dogs. This will be used against us. And as for docking yourself, if you get a visit and there is no paper trail for docked pups, you're getting a lifetime dog ban. No ifs or buts. My advice to all working dog men is t

I wonder if she drives a car? Wears leather? Burns fossil fuel? Has done her bit to increase the human population? Likes a big Mac? Has ever saved any habitat?

Where from matey?

I presume for the same reason that the fish passes were installed. Though it wouldn't have held up any fish I shouldn't have thought.

Its called a perscription... You rate that stuff then JD? Old boy a few doors up gave me a jar when he put his dogs down. Does it keep well, this jar looks older than me... I think your the only other person Ive heard mention it. Yes mate, it's good gear. For some itches, where the dog is licking and biting itself and leaving a wet sore behind it is nothing to do with mites IMO. Once the anal glands have been cleared then a good course of Camrosa fettles it. I rate it above Maleseb.

Classed as Newley I believe. Took this pic the last time I was in the area.
-
There's only one thing that I'd use, and that's Camrosa oil. Shampoo the dog and then apply the oil. Perfect stuff. I would also try and feed just raw.

Set the pan heavy, then no small bird will be able to set it off.

I have fished it, for the most of it's length it is very silty and very shallow. I have only ever had a couple of small trout from it. It starts up at the Abbey and ends just under the fish pass. It starts near the old abbey railway and ends just under the fish pass. There's better places.

I can't tell from the pics mate. Not clear enough. But I can tell you that whole stretch is full of otter.

That's the weir at the top of the sewage beds I said had been removed. My cousin caught as golden orfe there once!

Blooming heck saying that iv got a well trusted friend saying he seen one under the dark arches in Leeds centre. I seen lots of brown trout under there too. I used to get all the results handed to me from the electro team. It's a surprising river the aire that's what makes it so interesting. Did they ever get any eels? No eels on any of the reports I saw.

When the EA electro-net the Aire they always find Grayling around Armley, obviously in the faster runs.

Easy to make, I made mine from a cardboard box and an actinic strip bulb. The best are Mercury Vapour, but that's only for serious mothing. Actinic is good enough for an amateur like me....
