  1. in the past i have let the dog hunt up but only ONE AT A TIME. this way, if they happen across a earth then theres only one dog in. I know that you may think you know all the earths in your area, but they will be a few you dont. i am surprised every year by new ones i stumble across and i am a mooching b*stard. My old terrier Lucy caught a few foxes above ground too....
  2. if you jab her make sure you get the vet to do it, and do not expect to breed out of her for at least two years..
  3. this is my mates young dog...a 11 month 3/4 bred weaton/grey...
  4. wheaton crosses are the ultimate tool for critters that bite back......IMHO....but be careful you buy from good tested stock as they are now being bred "for money" by the odd individual...if i were you i would try for a pup bred in ireland if possible, then you know its from decent stuff..i got plenty of whe/gry pics...will post some when i dig them out...
  5. he is about 25 -26 at shoulder and has a great temperament..he did take quite a while to "grow up " if you know what i mean.....in the pic he had just taken a couple of good sized rabbits
  6. Had a good walk with a good mate of mine tonight....just went along to see his dog, a bull/grey X airedale/grey...i got to say that i was mighty impressed and the dog has filled out nicely since i last seen him....

  9. i was having a chat with a freind the other day on the phone and we got onto the subject of terriers. This lad does more than his fair share and has had some very good dogs, and bitches. so we were chatting and the subject of big earths came up in reference to how a dog should work them. As we all know, the large earths sometimes hold more than one occupant and therefore my friend sometimes puts the terreir back in again to get two bites of the cherry, so to speak. Do others do the same, or would they call it a draw after the first dig on a particular earth? My friends theory being that, a te

    4X4

I had a L200 mitsu and thought it was a great wagon....not too bad on fuel and loads of room for dogs. and despite off roading every weekend for two seasons it never once got stuck, even in some pretty bad conditions.... i would recommend one to anybody....
  15. its amazing just how many folk do "lube" their guns with silicone! especially airgunners, for some reason they think it had mystical properties but it is not for metal to metal parts...it works good on scopes though....
  16. now i was once chatting to an old and well respected dog man in the bull circuit. Well, we gets onto the subject of bloodlines and he gave me a little scanario....imagine two dogs, litter brother and sister...the sister goes to a pet home and the brother is a great worker yet dies.....he said he would breed off the untested, untried bitch without hesitation...and the reason? because she has the same blood.....now im not going to comment personally, but thats what he told me, and that guy has had some of the very best dogs....food for thought indeed
  17. ialways like a .177, get some field target trophy for the gun as i found that they shot the best out of it...
  18. well, i dont care what they say about you foxy, i think you look kinda cute  especially in that last pic, typical catalogue pose predator
  19. Its SSSOOOO easy...if youve got the permision then you have a good reason to own a rifle....contact your local firearms police and ask for application form. Fill it in and send it off...will take 8-12 weeks depending...in thr mean time get a good quality safe fitted to an internal wall with a seperate compartment for the bolt/ammo....make sure windows and general security is bang on....four or five days after your inspection you should have it....
  20. chilli, i have seen the police out down near you. Parked up at 3 am on the roundabouts that you have to use to get to the motorway. Of course, i was in the area bird watching, but i should imagine should anyone have had a car full of venison then their bottom would have been nipping.
  21. or email it to me mate and i will send it to ian
