  5. Easy to make from a bit of chicken wire mate.....have a square 3ft X 3ft, but obviously, the bigger the better....make funnel into it.......mate funnel so its low to ground. Bait them in. easy as pie
  6. It is two factors......the "neat" UPVC guttering is taking away the sparrows nesting holes and also the fact that our gardens are neater, sprayed for pests too, which decreases the amount of food available for the young. Sparrows have to rear their young on insects, they cannot rear on anything else, hence, reduction of insects, a reduction of sparrows. It is a crying shame as there used to be loads round me.
  7. Would you ever consider a dog from this breeding JD? yes i would give it a go one day...but just not yet......other things in the pipeline....lol....
  8. HHmmmmmm7 months old........"Game"?.....lol.."Work if asked".....
  9. Give them enough work to satisfy their urge and its amazing just how calm and manageable they become. JD
  10. Erm.....is it true that the sparrow is now protected?.....if so, best left alone...
  11. Hi guys, one of my good friends owns one. It is a line bred 2nd or 3rd generation cross and it is a fair dog. I know it has taken fallow single handed and will not spew when faced with critters that bite back. I feel that the GSD used must be a solid built, non-show type, with a good, racy figure, not the sort of shit you see with sloping backs and associated problems. MY friends dog is a good rabbiter but i hear it is a bit "tasty" with people it doesnt know. This dog isnt a one off, the line throws some good dogs, all good grafters on all quarry. Of course, im not insinuating that they will
  12. trust me to get name wrong...lol.....what a gimp........cheers

Having undergone a good sort out of my house i am now in need of a decent pc. not bothered about it being a lap top, but would like something fast, large memory with a flat screen monitor and cordless mouse/keyboard. Where is the best place to get one from and what prices are we talking. Thought you guys would know...cheers

    crossbow

When i was a youngster i experimented with crossbows and found them to be quite innaccurate and cumbersome. They cannot compare to a compound bow for accuracy. There is little art in firing a crossbow when compared to a longbow or compound bow. IMHO they are a waste of money.
  18. I think you need to have a think what quarry you would like to hunt with the "pup" you plan on breeding. Then chose a stud dog that can hunt and tackle that particular quarry time and time again. a proven dog. Then your pups will have a good chance of living up to your expectations. But personally, there are far too many pups around at the moment. Breeding more is a not a good thing.....good hunting.....JD
  19. Ian... what was it that you wanted that waterproof case on your vibrating phone for.....and why do you keep asking me to dial it?....and why does it smell a bit pooey?
  20. Some great pics as usual Kye my old mucka.... lets have a few more...... good hunting......
  21. Hi guys/..... well, basically... he was involved in a collision with a wall....we tried all we could but there was no way he would ever walk again. The dog always gave 100%, but we cannot wrap them up in cotton wool. He ran his quarry out of the beam and collided in dark. Had the best years of my life with him and he may be very hard to replace. I dont regret a single moment with him, but just wish he could have taken a red deer, but that matters little now. It always happens to the good ones im afraid. Good hunting guys.
  22. In my opinion..... never beleive anything in books. they should be read for entertainment value only and , even then, with perhaps a large pinch of salt to be kept close at hand. beleive only what you see first hand.
  23. i can neither confirm nor deny such a correlation....
