  1. Hi Ian, I'm sure that once the folks on here come to get to know you well enough, you might touch lucky somewhere. Once you gain permission on somewhere to shoot, it may be worth asking someone on here along to go with you to your shoot - that way, you will find it better (as a rule) because, as you will no doubt find out, places to shoot CAN be somewhat 'difficult' to come by. I guess what i'm trying to say is that everyone (rightly so) is very protective of their shoots, and may not be too ready to let someone go with them, for fear of the risk of losing that shoot? But like i s
  2. Hi buzzy S410, Yes, this is normal mate - nowt to worry about at all. With reference to the filling of your reservoir, I would avise you to try filling to 180 Bar, as a maximum point. You will find this is right and will put you at roughly the top end of your 'sweet spot', and then you can simply count down the shots you fire (as i do) and re-fill at a specific shot count (usually after about 70- shots for me with my .177 S310) and that will serve you well for the future mate. Just be sure and re-fill to 180 Bar and you will be fine. Hope this helps you? Regards, Grim.
  3. Hi Mass_G3nocide, I'm not too sure which part your question is fererring to bud - can you expand on it any please mate? Regards, Grim.
  4. I have heard (but never had the opportunity of using one) that the AGS Sapphire 3-9x40 Mil Dot are rather nice scopes to use? Regards, Grim.
  5. I hope that helps mate? All the best, Grim.
  6. I hope the above answers are or will be, of some help to you bud? All the best, Grim.
  7. " INCOMING!! " . . . [plop] . . . There ya go Bud . . . . . don't eat them all though, ya greedy bugger . . . . . . shoot some as well!! Regards, Grim.
  8. No worries Cometa mate. Anytime. Regards, Grim.
  9. With respect, Cometa has more than one scope, and does have more than one rifle also, for that matter. I believe that it is, after all, up to Cometa as to decide how he wants to use the scope, and which rifle he wants it on top of too. Having just said that, I have to wonder if anyone here would really appreciate being told what scope they should use with what rifle? No-one? . . . . . [sniff] . . . thought not . . . . I mean to say, come on boys - give the lad a chance, let him make his own decisions based upon his own experiences, and let him see the support of those decisions,
  10. I am truly glad to see you coming on Liam - like i said some while ago 'start as you mean to go on' thats the way forward mate. Carry on as you are now and you will have no problems old son. Best regards, Grim.
  11. Jeff, If i were you bud, try one last thing before you write the scope off completely - try to do the second method i mention in the zeroing sticky - optical centering. If that does not work, then that would seem to show that something is most definately not right within the scope body. If that fails to do the trick, then all i could suggest is that you will need to have a photographic shop ( and by that i mean one that deals with repairs, not just the sale of photographic instruments, like) look at it? All the best, Grim.
  12. FV! Nice to see you again pal. Welcome back to the fold. Regards, Grim.
  13. Hi Adam, I guess i do know a bit, yeah - its just what i have picked up over the years really, and retained. I haven't done any mods in the usual sense (the only mods i do to my rifle are those to make it better for me to shoot) but i know enough to maintain my air rifle to legal limits, and service it myself - that sort of thing. Saying that, i have removed my trigger internals and polished each of my sears up, put it back together and now its as smooth as a piece of glass! I just tend to get an idea about air rifles in general, and then if i like it, i will generally go to my wor
  14. Ok, cheers for the heads-up JB. All the best, Grim.
  15. Hehe . . . as i said to him just the other day Adam, with that scope, he will be able to take a hair off a gnat's knacker at 30 yards now! :11: Regards, Grim.
  16. Lewismac1, I am not tarring anyone with any brush at all - I was merely pointing out one place where I KNOW that there HAVE been instances of cut and runs - it is (unfortunately) a fact, it happens, all over the place (not just there), to anyone, and could happen at any time. I am just glad (for both Liam and myself) to say that it didn't happen in this transaction. Although This was the first time I have sold an item on line, I have witnessed many of these unfortunate happenings 'over there' - after all is said and done, i have been a member there for many years and have witnessed it happ
  17. Liam,

What more can i say - "good deal, with a good mate, done in a good manner" - Top Man!

    All the best pal,

    Terry.

  18. I had the opportunity to recently attempt my first ever sale on the interweb (that of my Richter 6-25x50 A/O I/O riflescope) - this was something that, to me, was a bit of an 'unknown' to me as i have not done this before now. Cometa300s (Liam) was the guy who wanted to buy it from me, and this was sucessfully arranged between the two of us, with each of us shooting PM's to each other, and in 'phone talks also. My main fear about trying this selling lark was to assure Liam that I am not one of these 'take the money and run' type of people, but one of the old fashioned type - you can read a
  19. I used to use Polos ..the bad shots broke them!!! Aye Deker, I've been there mate with the polo's. :11: I also found a good thing with the polo mints were that when you get fed up of trying to break them with a pellet, you can really set your personal standard that bit higher and try to get the pellet through the center hole without breaking the polo itself - hard i agree, but 'do' able all the same. . . . Regards, Grim.
  20. Liam, I am very pleased you like the scope mate, and I am happy to see it has arrived with you in one whole piece - safe and sound! It is looking good so far mate - i am sure you won't regret the day. As i said to you on the 'phone, there is a few things you may find different from some scopes, but you will soon get used to it. and don't forget, if you have any questions or need advice on something, just get in touch with me, and i will do my best to see you right old son. You know where I am mate. Good luck with your new scope Liam, Grim.
  21. Adam, Thanks very much for the pictures bud - much appreciated! I am reckoning that when you get that butt pad off, you will be able to do what i was saying in the post i made - with no probs whatsoever. I would also suggest a good way forward with regards to the butt pad is to get one of those adjustable ones (they cost about £12- £15 or so form most gun shops) they are much better in my opinion. You will not be needing much lead to balance up the S200 mate, so the tube won't need to be as long as say, mine was. Therefore, the hole in your butt won't need to be as deep either -
  22. Hi Adam, In respect of the bold and underlined above: First point about shooting upwards and noticing you hit the target every time - that is because mate, when you tilt or raise the rifle upwards, you are altering the centre of gravity somewhat? Remember, when shooting into trees from the ground, the rifle is at a much steeper angle of attack, and so this would seem to have the effect of ' shortening' the rifles length in relation to the direction of the force of gravity (the rifle of course, won't be shortened at all in reality)? I know this may seem to make no sense - but if you try
  23. I have one of those very things JG - it's called The Wife!! Regards, Grim.
  24. Hi Adam, I have tried asking a few people in the gun shops, but they always say the same - "your no good to us if you have no experience/knowledge/ know how . .blah, blah, blah . . .Sorry!" Their loss - my gain, as far as i'm concerned - i get to share my ideas with you lot here! The ideas i have now, and have had in the past - yes, i agree i could patent them - but the cost of this process is prohibitive to me, way too costly for me to afford i'm afraid. Another dissappointment for me. Saying that, i have been able to copyright my ideas, for the cost of a self addressed envelope,
  25. Hi Glass, For the value of interest, in which area of England are you situated? Regards, Grim.
