  1. I would never buy owt from tr robb(ing b d) - always have seemed to be operating a little TOO much on the 'greedy' side of the profit margin, if you ask me!? Lol I looked at his web site once - and i could only JUST afford to do that, mind! LMAO My mate (the guy i got the S310 off of, funnily enough) went there to buy the new (it was THEN, anyway) S410 and he was robbed by ott pricing, my mate found the exact same rifle (about a month afterwards) for near nigh £100 less than he paid for it at robbs. Well done on the Spitty anyway, nice rifle, that. price seems fair too. R
  2. Well fook me rigid!! When i looked at the close up in particular, it was clues like the extended leg profiles, the 2 flanges that clamp on to the stud in the stock, and the bracket that goes between the flanges and the adjusting bolt that said Harris to me. Bugger me backwards - i'll be damned!! lol Regards, Grim.
  3. OH YES!!! Most definately a Harris you got there bud, methinks! Regards, Grim.
  4. Pidgeons year round breeders as far as i know yeah - lets face it, they have a poke when and where they can!!! Wish i was a pidgeon . . . . . . . Regards, Grim.
  5. LOL at that bit Deker! You umm . . . . don't err . . . . . .actually er . . . . . . DO that, do you bud? OOOOH . . . ERRR . . . . . .MISSUS . . . . . . . NO!!!! All the best, Grim.
  6. Looking at the couple of visual clues, i'd have to say Harris, along with Davey. Nowt wrong wi' a Harris pod - the best IMHO! Regards, Grim.
  7. Hi Sarge, AFAIK, pidgeons are open season all year round, for the reason that they are classed as pest and vermin, and they are on the quarry list as well? If i'm wrong on this (but i'm pretty sure i'm right though), someone will correct me. Regards, Grim.
  8. Yes mate, it is asked rather often! lol Its just that this subject is one that keeps cropping up, and eahc calibre user has various fors and againsts to mention in argument, which is only right. Everyoneshould have the opportunity to fight their corner, so to speak. Basically (and something tells me i'm not the only one here) the calibre doesn't matter so much as where you put the pellet - thats what makes the kill at the end of the day. I admit i shoot .177 - it does the job for me without doubt. But that doesn't mean i have anything against 22, 25 or owt else. It comes down to what
  9. Hi Cometa, my old mucker! Sounds like the problem you have is what's known as Itchy Trigger Finger - it gets us all mate at some stage, you just got to condition yourself to get beyond the point of that 'urge' to slip the trigger too soon. Its more a question of self discipline and control, more than anything else. Nothing to worry about or overly concern yourself with unduly, but you need to get rid of the 'itch' so you won't end up maybe wounding the quarry, or at least making it limp off somewhere, like? There was no mallice or ill feelings intended when i said that mate BTW.
  10. .25 - PAH! A girlie's toy, that . . . . . . .177 [ :tongue4: ] is where you wanna be Chris . . . . . . C'mon bud . . . . . . . you know you want it, really !!! Hehe . . . . just pulling yer chain pal, all tounge in cheek, and no offense meant. Regards, Grim
  11. First of all Zofo, welcome to THL - I hope you enjoy your stay here, as well as the deep and wide knowledge base that is to be found here! Well, unfortunately, it seems you have found out the hard way (same as us all i think!) that the strongest position for an air rifle to be in is on the ground, layed on it's side! Don't worry, you are not alone in this unhappy mistake bud. Ok, so after the fall, you find you can't adjust the scope any more? It could mean that the internals of the scope may have become mis-alligned? If the following proceedures are not sorting the problem out, th
  12. RK is a good bloke, always has intersting accounts and pics of his hunting forays.

    Keep it up pal!

  13. Good on you mate, fair play to ya! All the best, Grim. PS: Anyway, you are of more value on here bud!
  14. AWWW . . . . . please RK, . . . . . do it . . . . . . go on . . . . . you know you want to . . . . . . . don't resist the urge to do it . . . . . . go forward . . . . . . 'close your eyes, young Skywalker . . . let the force guide you' . . . LOL [AHEM} . . . . .Not that i'm encouraging you, you understand? . . . . I might 'pop in' over the next day or so, just to see what decision you make, like! lol Regards, Grim.
  15. I think a Leveret is the term for a baby hare? Not too sure, but someone will correct me if i'm wrong? Regards, Grim.
  16. I got to admit Davey, FV has a valid point - i don't like getting pissed on myself, as it goes! LMAO But, if it starts to rain when i'm out in the field, i'll generally hanker down under cover until it stops - if it don't show sings of stopping, then i'm off home. Regards, Grim.
  17. Cheers Buster, glad you like the look of it. There's a few more pics in my profile as well. I am working on a 'knockabout' stock ATM, almost finished it(well, finished the shaping/sanding the prfil - now the cammo painting to be done), jus trying to get the painting done - then it WILL be finished! LOL Thanks again bud. Regards, Grim.
  18. Well RK. . . . a big WELL DONE!! to you mate!! Nice to see you getting somewhere - just gotta make sure you keep 'em all now bud. All the very best to you, Grim.
  19. I'm afraid to say i don't know what the going rate is for a service kit, or even what it includes? As regarding servicing, i do a lot myself on my rifle - replacing o rings here and there, polishing my trigger sears, setting the trigger up etc, as well as replacing things like the filling valve and magazine indexing post and spring. I also regulary test the power with my chrono and if needed, i will adjust to maintain legallity. This is what i tend to do myself as i know what to do, and how to do it. I'm sure if you (generalization here ) get to know your rifle intimately, then you ( )
  20. I think i can see what you mean with your question, and i hope this goes some way to answering that question. What i have done is to make myself a 'shooting file' - basically a folder which has clear A4 pockets within it. I then tend to print off a copy of each of the four licences, and put them into their own idivual pockets, along with a pocket containing detailed, self researched and constructed information about my shoots and the permission form relating to each of them. Also included in this file system is proof of my shooting insurance, as well as a couple of safety type notices to
  21. To Foxyjo ; Thanks for your comments - nice to know of your son's story. Also pleased he is also getting on well! Thanks mate, I just thought that as Liam hasn't posted much yet (he is a bit shy) I felt it right to give an update on his progress, like. Glad you like it. Cheers, Grim.
  22. Thanks mate, I just thought that as Liam hasn;t posted much yet (he is a bit shy) I felt it right to give an update on his progress, like. Glad you like it. Cheers, Grim.
  23. Hi there mate, Is your rifle and stock balanced to suit "you"- i mean to say, does it feel front heavy when its at the shoulder? Mine did, until i balanced it to make standing shots much easier for me. Its not too dificult to do yourself really (it can't be can it - i managed to do it!? ). I admit that my rifle is now slightly heavier on the pick up than it used to be, but that weight dissappers when you get it to the shoulder, like? I thought i'd mention this to you as you said about being more steady when your doing standing shots, you see. All the best, Grim.
  24. yes pitindall although i thought it was the oppisite way around ?? with the spring being the long low push of air? and pcp being the short hard jab regards thorburnlad Yes, with respect to the output of air from the 2 types of air rifle, the 'slow push' is what the springers do, and the 'quick snap' is what the pcp's do. The pcp rifle's valves work marginally quicker than the spring action, and i believe the pcp's air expansion drops a lmarginally quicker than a springers expansion? I think. Regards, Grim.
