I think it depends on the rifle, 100g Fed Prems are not the best in my Sauer. I am on SAKO ammo at present. Winchester were ok, but not special. Found them expensive though.
I am not defending Tayside Police...but.
One simple phone call to log the night time shoot, would have prevented the incident. I have logged every night time shoot in Tayside I have ever been on, and shoot with 200 yds of a village, and 100 yards of a Major trunk road...without incident.
Lesson to be learnt I think...
Generally rimfire rounds are smaller in terms of energy, and are cheeper to buy and run. Centerfires tend to be more expensive, are higher energy and carry tighter restrictions.
Any mre questions, ask away.

Have you got your license application in yet, because it can be a long and timely process, what's for sale now may not be in 3 months?
Get your application in first, then start looking, avoids dissapointment on buyer and sellers part .

Scope £60ish Nikko 3-9 x 40. Enough in my opinion. But if i had 200-300 quid spare, I would put fresh glass on.
