  1. They all shoot straight. Synthetic, nickle plated are easier kept if you are constantly out in bad weather. Just whatever floats your boat.
  2. Yep, it is all down to personal preferrence. I've got a longer barrelled style, with is synthetic stocked and nickle plated, in .22lr. Great wee rifles, price is going up all the time though. Dont need big expensive scopes on them. 3-9 X 40/50 with a mildot reticlue-£70- is plenty. SAK mod's are fine. Some say there are better MODs, but in all honesty for value for money, there aren't. Couple them with hollow point sub sonics.
  3. .22lr is £3.50/50 Winchester Hollow point subs. Yes Hmr is for Head shots only if you want to eat whats left. Other than that is an excellent calibre. I reckon .22lr for bunnies up to 100/110 yards. Cheap to run, quiet and leaves a meal. The only time I would consider an HMR, is if there is a serious risk from ricochets. .22lR does not carry enough energy to disintigrate on impact, whereas HMR will. My own opinion is to avoid both for fox, unless absolutely essential, and after sufficient experience with the gun. You will be lucky to get fox listed on your ticket for a rimfire.
  4. On average more than £1.00 per shot, good round, flat, plenty of oomph.
  5. no the gill isnt pregnant yet it is a plan, and i can guess your next sentence so save your breath You asked my opinion. Its not what you want to hear...sorry. Ferrets are free to good homes, If he wants to breed them let him. The cost and risk to you is huge.
  6. So did you carry on with your art, or did you stop
  7. Sounds like an unplanned pregnacy and a responsibility shift...
  8. 1st is my wee nephew and the 2nd is my dad lol I'll get my coat...
  9. Whats the script with the top two then, the bottom one I can get the grasp of..Freinds having fun. But the top two require a bit of guidance. 1. New born Baby abstract? 2. I'm thinking either gangsta or pimp? (I hope its not your da) LOL Matty
  10. That sounds shit mate, if you are a genuine chap, I would write a letter, keeping it objective explaining what has happened to you permission holders. Tell only the facts and apologise for any missunderstanding. Best of luck.
  11. Good job, I 'm sure they will appreciate it..
  12. Nah, doesnt float my boat either. A rifle is a tool to me. All synthetics here, no posh stuff. I dont mind a bit of wood and gloss on a shottie, but not a rifle.
  13. ROTF LMFAO I was born in Peterborough and went to schol in Wisbech, guess that makes me an East Anglian Boy
  14. My bull x Poley would take a dozen single handed no problem.
  15. 3-9 x 40/50 with an Mildot reticule, with or without illumination. Nikko or Hawke would be towards the budget end of the scale. I have used a Nikko for years, I was hung up about the cost of it >£70, but I hit what I shoot at, use it on the lamp up to and over 100yrds. I just have to except that if its not broke, dont fix it.. This was a shared bag from last night at long range, up to 110 yards on the lamp
  16. I'd rather pay to watch you order it Scott...
  17. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. I have said this before, and I will say this again. I do not expect to go to a Jewish country and order roast pork, in a pork sauce with pork stuffing...with a side order of porky balls When I was in Kuwait recently, my female colleague dressed so as not to offend, and neither of us drank because their culture didnt allow it. I recently went in to a Norwegian house and was asked to take my shoes off..I did, so as not to offend. The point being if you go to a country, you adopt their cultures, not inflict your own.
  18. It also to do with swing and momentum of the gun in motion for longer range shots. If you have a bit more weight in front, you can rely on keeping the gun swinging that bit longer when you pull the trigger. If you have a shorter barrell, it is more suited to snap shot, and quick reaction shooting, such as skeet, where, move , mount shoot has to be undertaken in a very swift, single movement, and you will track the target, overtake it and shoot it. Maybe someone can put that in english for you. My own preference is for a 28" multi choke, which covers everything for me except trap shooting,
  19. Yep, I have dsylexia of a sort. In order to type or write I have remembered lots of little ryhmes to help spell. Although I still miss letters out of words, words out of sentances and sentances out of paragraphs. Fortunately I'm ok with numbers :secret: Never stopped me. I'm Engineering and IT Director for a group of companies. I only found out I had it at college, when my mate got his free computer and lent me his evaluation sheet. I was told my mind works faster than my hands when I write... :weight_lift2: Thats why most of my posts are edited..I write it, post it. Then reread it,
  20. Just out of interest Aaron, how far did you aim over the rabbits head? Well my rimmie is zeroed at 60, and we took a couple tonight off the bipod at 100yards. Thats a hold over of 4+ inches. My own view is that the hold over would be completely out of view of the scope at 300 yards. Accuracy is 1/2 inch groups at 50 yard, therefore we are looking at least 3" groups at 300. Maybe more So if you did take a rabbit at 300yards with a rimmie...........well done.
  21. Welcome to THL from Dundee. :welcomeani: Just back from lamping in Perth
