  1. you have got it wrong. its illegal to have docked dogs in the show if the public havepaid an entrance fee to the show ground itself.....it is not illegal to charge for the actual class entry fees. You simply have to make it "donation to enter" rather than charging an entry fee on the gate. I repeat...its the actual physical show entrance thats the problem (ie on the entry to the field or carpark) AND NOT actually entering the show classes thats the legal issue.
  2. sadly I dont think they/it will. eVEN if there is another free vote I dont believe the status will change and actually im not sure that that is atall bad. if you have legal hunting under a license (which is what it will be) then that license can easily be revoked (and having read the info from MFH that they are setting up a new regulatory body and it clearly explains how a license can be revoked in that information)then I believe we are better off as we are.
  3. great idea TM!! Only snag is....whenever ive done "men only" ones in the past....all those big brave and bolshy young farmers boys suddenly all become quiet, shy shrinking violets!!! Funny how they never want to actually put their money where there mouth is
  4. lets hope thescum who stolemyfriends norfolk terrier out of her car at this show, gets whats coming. no doubt they are known to someone on here so if anyone knows someone who has suddenly aqquired a norfolk terrier bitch all of a sudden.......please let me know. Dont be afraid to dob them in

the corgi was the pastoral winner not the utility winner.
  6. cant wait for the pix....am intereted for sure
  7. is the mars one the wooden handled type? if so.......is it fine or course please?
  8. FOR WHAT SPECIES? dogs? if so go to hyperdrug/canine chemist on line.
  9. have a client with 2 of these cross breeds (cant bring myself to give them a breed name, sorry!).....there is no genetic type and one is lab like and sensible the other is spinger like and mad they both work duck woodcock snipe and pjeasant....when the owner can stay in contact with them!
  10. i know it seems an effort, but you have to put together a well written letter correcting the mistakes. keep it factual and keep it polite. Send it in for publication and if you suspect they have an anti stance, then keep on pestering until you get it published.
  11. not exactly......all they mention is the law on exhibiting docked breeds at a "pay for entry" show, in this case Crufts. This has nothing todo with the kc views......its the law passed by government and nothing to do with the KC, who incidentally are very pro docking.
  12. we buy it in 10metre rolls from bronteglen online, best quality, as there is cheaper lesser quality stuff around. use it doubled in winted for thinner skinned ones to helpprevent pressure areas.
  13. how appalling how on earth can the "breeder" afford to rear a litter and have all the eye and DNA hydroxyglutaric tests done, that all staffies should have before breeding, if they cant even afford the simple stud fee?
  14. the main thing is dont be tempted to rush it, or think hes ok earlier than vet suggests......I know someone whos leonberger snapped a cruciate, then 2 weeks later they felt sorry for it and let it out in the garden for a run result was another operation and another £600, and another 6 weeks cage rest all because of owners stupidity. Vet was furious!!! The 1st few days after the op hell be a bit dozy antyway, and hell soon get used to the cage rest....put cage in quiet place where he can see stuff going on but not where the pup will run around and tease him. You cant rush this job, and once
  15. turn the light out! it will help a lot.
  16. what usually happens is that the bone disintegrates gradually, and eventually completely gives out. At that point you hve a decision to make. ive had it in a hound and had the leg taken off......I wouldnt do it again I have to say, although he did have another 12 months, most of it happily working, he was the exception in terms of ability and temperament to deal with the situation.

    Log Store

the simplest way is a few pallets on ground, logs stacked on top, fence post each corner and a marine ply or corrugated roof on top. As long as they are off the wet ground and can get plenty of air, then anything will do.
  19. i agree dog natives, what i meant was is "fox pee" the same product as the bottled "fox scent" which Id presumed was madee from rendered down fox and made into a concentrate. yes its for laying a drag for trail hunting, we soak a sock in it, put it on a long cord and drag it from the horsefor the pack. Anyone know if fox urine will work for this please?
  20. is this the stuff? https://secure.blackwolfsupplies.com/cgi-bin/shop/HS03025.html does it work? hmmm but is fox urine the same as fox scent?
  21. anyone in UK please? There was an ad months ago in CMW but none of late
  22. can anyone tell me of a uk supplier of fox scent for making a drag please? Our old supplier seems to have disappeared
  23. tibetan spaniel isnt actually a spaniel/gundog....its a small temple dog from the monastries in tibet....and kind of like a peke without the hair! A keeshond, again not a hound, but a very hairy dog for guarding barges in Holland.....looks a bit like an elkhound I suppose....sussex spaniels to the uninitiated rather like a solid colour springer, but better looking in my opinion. An airdale...well cant believe you dont know what one of those look like and a BSD is a belgian Shepherd Dog....think of the one that was on eastenders for years!
  24. Just wondered if there is a good country sports shop in Edinburgh please? Must be fairly central as Ill have to walk it from train station.....ripped wide open my smartest pair of deerhuntr shooting trews today and need a new pair for a job on tuesday!!! HELP!!!
