Whippet/ saluki plus the usual hint of the unknown! Looks a bit weedy compared with a lot of the crackers on here.

Spect you've done this but try to work out the source .Too late for you but it might help nip a local out-break in the bud. Hope your others pull through .

If all else fails have a wander round your nearest "metal recycling " yard. Even at todays scrap prices a bit of mesh is'nt going t break the bank. TheOne is dead right about that porta-cabin /security grill heavy duty stuff .Worth considering if foxes are liable to scratch at your pens.

AS everone says if you let the rabbits cool the fleas drop off . Out of interest rabbit fleas favour the spot by the ears and tend not to move much once they have taken a feeding hold .So if the ear area is free of fleas it is unlikely that there are many if any on the rest of the body. So ,I'm an anorak!

Never drunk much but it's never taken much to have an effect! . As a teenager, according to my mates , I'd become amazingly and overbearingly polite . Middle-agedwomen would be making for the pub exit when suddenly this long-haired ,leather -clad oily, smelly, drunken greabo would hurl himself aggressivly toward them ...and hold the door open. Ditch's mention of a chainsaw reminded me of one of the stupidest things I've ever seen a drunk do. Fire-work cum Halloween fancy dress party. A mate turns up late and p*ssed with a running chainsaw (minus chain I add) ,wearing a horro

Thanks .That's a step nearer... Strange that a country and indeed E-bay site that promotes a device like Le "Taupe gun" should blanche at showing a few dead moles.Perhaps if they would have been happier to show your pictures if the "taupes " had been in tiny ,shrapnel -riddled pieces !

River carp, mad to give it a go?
comanche replied to mole catcher's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Rakish-looking ,streamlined carp.Love the custom scale pattern on the mirror.Reminds me of a Sebright bantam .If this is the result of a "short 24 hour session ",what could you have caught in a "long" 24 hour session? Bet you had fun -
Young ferrets about 8 weeks old .I'm keeping a couple and have homes for most of the others but might have one or two in need of homes.Price ?Small donation ,packet of biscuits (nice ones mind) Might deliver. Appreciative homes more important than price. Feel free to PM but I might not answer straight away as I tend only to use the computer every few days..

Smooth newts but the colour variation and noticable features of individuals was something quite unexpected. There really is something "about" newts that people find endearing. Thanks for the comments and JD the feeding suggestions

look like Jacobs. Off topic but jacob soay crosses taste a bit like venison.. Does this little lady give photograghy lessons? Good pictures ..

Ok ,I must have too much time on my hands. All started when the grand children caught a few newts in my pond and we popped them into a tank.Within minutes they were eating worms and popping out eggs. From watching them i realise that newts must have sensory organs in their bottom lips .I'm sure someone can shed more light on this. The adults were back in the pond a few hours later but I've been watching the eggs develop (I know ..get a life!) P.S Ok so it's obvious that I have no idea how to post photos in the righjt order but they covera sequence of abot 18 days .

Helped a tree sugeon friend yesterday and the home(Tudor Mansion) owner has booked me for next time his elusive mole appears in the restored walled garden and tennis court. He's tried so -called humane traps ,and brought some mole repellent back from France on one of his trips . Nothing too unusual .More worrying though was what appeared to be something that reminded me of the little Yellow Submarine toys from the sixties half- buried in the ground. Also from France...An anti-mole land -mine by Christ!... Apparently it blows -up ,or I assume,blows-down when an unfortunate

Combined weight ..18 pounds 15 and three-quarter ounces. Now if someone knew how tall you are, could judge the length of the fishies accordingly and had a copy of the old Mona's Scale .

Two sad old gits do it Crabtree style!
comanche replied to comanche's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
As threatened a few pictures .Those who have seen these pictures have commented that my hat is a"very gay one " or looks like something from the middle Ages. Have to say that my mate was'nt actually smoking his pipe ,just using it to keep his gentles warm..... Perhaps the original title should've been ." A bloke with a pipefull of maggots and a pratt dressed as a Mediaeval homosexual do it Crabtree style ." -
Two sad old gits do it Crabtree style!

Thanks FD. I have to admit that one bit of the Stour looked like a carp lake ,there were so many specimen hunters after barbel. We kept walking untill we found a stretch to ourselves. Yep I'd like to catch a barbel or any really big fish but I don't enjoy combining fishing and camping. Each to his own though. One chap had a superb 7lb chub from a free stretch while my mate watched. He'd waited 3 days for it so though it would'nt be my idea of fishing he certainly deserved it. One thing we did decide on early was not to try to emulate the locals .Once we started fishing as we did at home we -

I know it's old news to some but just read a report on a guy who found in himself in a survival situation and killed and ate a nest of osprey chicks. After his rescue Wild life wardens and police charged him under the Protection of Birds act. In Court the man assured the Judge that it was a one-off act in an emergency situation and he was let off. As he went to leave the dock the Judge could'nt resist asking what Osprey chicks actually tasted like. The man thought for a second before replying ," Something between a Corncrake and a Hoopoo".

Just had three days away on the Dorset Stour and the Royalty with a mate . We are both experienced anglers in that we've been fishing for years but that does'nt mean we are actually any good!. To make it harder ,or maybe to give us a plausable excuse for failiure,we decided to do it Crabtree style-- Ok I did take an old Mitchell300 as a spare and "M " was using his super modern centre-pin reel but I opted for an ancient greenheart rod and elderly ,much repaired, old Nottingham drum .Most of the other anglers seemed to be preoccupied with worshipping The great barbel God and seemed to think
