    I would use a blowtorch and a pair of long nose pliers and heat and compress the first coil of the spring. As Andy says it may take time to bed in and settle. You can't put back what you have cut off but you can re stretch and temper the spring if you need to.

    Yes if it's a stable power output. In the destructions for the 550 it claims it will operate on a power supply between 11 to 15 v. But as 12 v is a standard for most things that's what the battery packs are made to.

    Just a heads up. That every time a site like above is brought to the forefront it receives unwanted attention and is hammered by the powers that be and ends up being shut down. Big brother is watching and as soon as things are put up on these sites they are being removed just as fast. Just leaving the unwatchable and un audible shite. As this is a public forum and anybody can view what is put, also the fact that what is put can be easily found by a search engine. Keep things clean and don't name names.
