  1. Oh dear this again! LOOK lay down absoulutely 'anywhere' on your shoot, if you can see 500 yards in all directions from head height (8>12" above ground) get a Harris Bipod immediatly and NEVER take a shot without using it. Nice idea but no FU#KING USE in the real world. If however you can only see 20 feet over the weeds forget it, bipods are for Rifle Ranges, Deserts and Sniper Movies.(Read EVERYWHERE except Bipod city). Get a Shooting Stix type 'stand up' rest because its the only rest worth a light in a practicle sense! AndyF A bipod is just a form of rest, as are sticks, a gat
  2. I have a CZ "American" the 17gr are pretty much in the same hole at 100 yards but only with Remington ammo. Everything else is a pattern rather than a group. The 20gr CCI gamepoint came in at a shade under an inch at 60 yards off the wing mirror.
  3. All previous foxes that I have sent to the big chicken coop in the sky have been at the wrong end of either a .223 or .243. Although I have fox conditioned on my hmr I always considered it too lightweight to use on anything but rabbit. Last night I was in a position where the hmr would be more appropriate than a centrefire so after a trip the the RFD to invest in the 20gr gamehead CCI's and a zeroing session during the day, it finally drew blood. The fox was at 50 or so yards when it stopped broadside and took a round in the boiler room. It ran about ten paces and gave up the ghost. Does a
  4. £100 plus travelling at £1 per mile for urban charlies. Too cheap???? Tonight's job was a doddle, at a bowling green. Set up at 9.30 in the clubhouse at 10.45 did a test run on the caller and lo and behold a vixen and a dog belted onto the green. Dropped the dog but the vixen made like a banana in a heartbeat.
  5. Including the inevitable customs charge it came to £290 including shipping. £90 dearer than the Foxpro spitfire but worth the extra. I am on a paid job after the chicken farm at £100 per charlie so it should pay for itself tonight all being well.
  6. Took delivery of a shiny new Western River"Apache" caller this afternoon. Approximately a hundred yard range on the remote and unlike the Foxpro caller it uses standard mp3 files instead of Cubase formatted ones. 400 calls on the unit, most of them useless in the UK unless the RSPCA *cough, wankers cough* start releasing wolves and bear into the wild. It was really easy to back the calls up then remove the unwanted ones. As I have ihunt for the iphone I wondered how to transfer the good ones. Seeeemples. Download a small program called Audacity and using a standard 3.5mm lead connect t
  7. In Islam all kuffar women are fair game to be used as sex slaves, indeed their men are lauded for doing this. Islam is the religion of the Devil himself. Dhimmi politicians who hand their orders down the the police chief inspectors who in turn refuse to investigate for fear of losing their precious jobs and pensions due to being branded racist. Firstly Islam is a religion not a race, secondly racism is a constructed crime. The biggest threat to all of us is actually the politically correct dogma that surrounds us. If you want a real eye opener then take a look at This Link I dare you to read i
  8. Apply Bepanthen cream five times daily. Wash the tattoo between applications otherwise the pores will become blocked and cause spots. How do I know..... Click Here
  9. I have no intention of falling out with you mate we are indeed kindred spirits and there will always be room for differing opinions in any debate amongst peers, that is what a debate should be. What I don't want to see I yet another media / anti head start on a debate that will affect us as shooters. There is an old saying that is very true, "Action is always faster than reaction" and I subscribe to that point of view. When you are vulnerable you should take the fear and put it to one side while you pursue your objectives. I do see your point of view and can see exactly where you are coming fr
  10. Sorry to rain on your parade Ric but I am a sane shooter. I have seen legislation that makes no difference to the criminal use of firearms foisted upon us for decades. It is your attitude that allows draconian laws to be passed. "Lets keep our heads down" is not the way forward. We shoot for a living and perform a great service to the economy, without us the food bill for the average person would increase because of damage by vermin. The antis have no concept of how this works in the real world as their food apparently comes in cling film wrappers. Keeping your mouth shut will invite the more
  11. The following is an email from another fourm, I am sure they would love us all to join in the debate. Hop on and don't be shy chaps The site in question proclaims "The Coalition Government is committed to restoring and defending your freedom – and we're asking you to participate". After many suitable entries being closed due to a large number of duplicates, we are calling all forum members to vote 5* for the popular entry below. - Ban of semi automatic firearms and pistols http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/repealing-unnecessary-laws/ban-of-semi-automatic-firearms-and-pistols
  12. Did the rounds for about four hours, loads of bunnies out but the shooting buddy that was with me has charlie fever so the search went on and on. You know the kind, ohhhh ohhh there's one when in fact it is a road cone. After spotting a couple and calling them in to less than two hundred yards while he faffed about with his .222 making enough noise to wake a member of the house of lords I started to despair. On to the last set of fields of the night. The lamp picked up the fox at two hundred plus and the call went on. Charlie started to circle off to the right. The hedgerow is one of those awk
  13. Ta Snap, I offloaded all of my reloading gear and stick to single specific rounds in each rifle now so they should do exactly what they say on the tin
  14. Already found them mate, looks interesting stuff........ For that price it would be rude not to give it a try
  15. I guess that there will always be a debate over the ethics of longer range shooting when it comes to live quarry. Personally I think it is down to the individual to make the decision as to whether it is a good call or not. Is it unethical to take a three hundred yard shot if you know exactly where the round is going to hit ? There are those that would say it would be better to get as close as possible but shooting at a hundred yards is not always an option. Anything that would enable me to place a shot more accurately is a bonus......

  17. Nice shot and write up mate, top day out by the sound of it.......... p.s What a way to go for the foxes
  18. What do you want to add it on to your FAC ? If so it will need to be classed as a firearm. If you just want a shotgun it will have to be on a separate shotgun certificate.
  19. Not that particular one but I have a 3-9x40 Dusk till Dawn one on my .243, could do with a slightly higher magnification for 200+ shots but the optics are spot on
  20. who said anything about vermin im thinking of going on a wild midnight shooting spree like they do in other countries I really did laugh out loud at that one...
  21. This made me smile.........................http://shop.hero-gea...0&categoryId=40 and this is even better.........http://pimpmygun.doctornoob.com/
  22. Nope definitely not. All of my rifles have a moderator, scope, sling and bi-pod. The idea of hanging bits and bobs all over them is ridiculous. It always seems to me that the "tacticool" lot have too much money to waste on toys to impress others. Me, I want a tool for a job.....
  23. A couple of them. My mate has an electronic one that will call some in. I can call using the back of my hand and also have a vixen mating call and various others on my phone. Truth is there is no holy grail of callers. Foxes are wild animals that will come if the sound is interesting to them at that point in time
