On a par mate a pin is just a pin after all.I did find thow that round ones had to be made(cost) but I made these myself from army trip flair posts which the army tend to leave laying about(free). end pins

The pins are on both ends of a longnet mate,Stick one pin in the ground walk in the direction you want to set your net alowing the net to feed off the loaded pin,at the end pull the net tight and stick that pin into the ground. To lift the net pull a pin out of the ground slowly walk towards the other pin feeding the net back onto the pin ready to reset. There are vids you can get . Good hunting P1.

    Newbie

Welcome mate, just taught I'd let you know what I used to do with the ferrets and my rapid 7. I would put a trusted ferret in a sock and carrie it in my pocket.Find a rabbit bury with a little light cover dotted about, pick out a tree within range of the bury to shoot from, quietly slip the ferret down the nearest hole walk back to your nominated tree and sit down with your back to the tree.Resting rifle on knees. When a rabbit bolts it normaly comes out slowly stops and takes a look around if it dos'nt like the look of something it will stop behind a bit of cover. If you move slow enough it wil
  16. i am stuck and im asking . could anyone answer my question on rabbits as regards to the best time to look for them and do they venture out much this time of year . thanks . A good time for checking out new land is an early morning walk, first light.. Ask the owner of the land where they see the most rabbits ect, they also would know if their is any other stuff on the land and where it would be, if their is fresh kickout around the earths/warrens look for possible tracks, hairs, and as others have said Smell is a good sign as to whats using an earth... Also dont worry about making

  20. Lets put it this way mate, you have a bury of about 40 holes in a field 60 mts or so further on you have another bury it dosent matter how many holes. You know where the rabbits are going when you put your ferret in the first bury (if you stand in the right place) just put your long net between the bury's( no purse nets needed and don't disturb the burys)..... I know which i would have. I have 130 purse nets which are very rarely used but my longnets are always used.Good luck.
  21. these where what I used, the mesh must not be able to slip over the handle a good length is needed on cultivated ground.I now only use quick sets.
  22. Thats where long net come into there own.
  23. Why not treat the ferrets so that they don't get ticks in the first place.
