  1. I wonder if your'll take gunter up on his offer.....
  2. Just what i was saying about hunting small deer full time, you need a dog built for it and imo a saluki x ain't built for it..
  3. Your the biggest talker of it mcknowitall, but the real reason i know about running the smaller deer is because iv'e walked the walk for a few years hunting pretty much small deer only and a muntie buck who's game will give a dog more stick than a roe buck would when caught up with .A saluki type dog might hit cover hard but it's not built for it and it'll break at some point, that's a fact and no matter how much fairy dust you try to chuck we all know how a dogs build affects it's quarry choice...
  4. We know you fecking know everything but like i say i've taken hundreds of them with lurchers over the years and to so as a main prey item as such you need a dog with some build to it,them feckers hit dence cover without slowing and you need a dog built to be able to do so to and a coursing bred dog ain't built like that..There'll take them in the open yes i know but most muntie hunting isn't done far away from cover and a tight or thin skinned dog will get itself a few scars along the way..
  5. Iv'e caught hundreds of the things over the years and the best dog i saw was mine on them, she was built like a brick shithouse but only 23/4 inches tall and had a dose of bull in her.She loved teeth as well and she loved the ruck a muntie can give back at times and iv'e seen the next best small deer dog )chinks, munties, roe) killed by a muntie putting it's antler through the dogs neck and out it's ear, that dog was coursing bred saluki type..I'd go for a heavier bodied dog than a saluki x and one with some bottle in the line as there tough little buggers and iv'e stitched up a lurcher more than
  6. Here's another one for you, imagine some old arab woman out in the desert then this angel came down from above and told her this imaginary god has knocked you up although your married but still a virgin and your going to have a baby who'll change the world.......Yes i know it's mental bit millions believe this bollocks and it's caused more harm and death than all the world wars put together,,,,The day the last civilized human being dies on this planet the better off Earth will be...
  7. The old AEC Routemaster (the old London double decker busses) were all meant to have easly done over a million miles and the only reason they got rid of them was due to the modern emission laws.Bet the non smokey replacements don't last any where near that..
  8. Dogs don't need booster jabs....
  9. Buzzards and Badgers and maybe the new fad the red kite are very much to blame in some areas...
  10. Fragile dog won't last long doing that eh , haven't been ferreting like that for years now and might well have been with Derek and his old dog Jake when i did..Nice one and long may you both have fun together mate....
  11. How's the dog doing TonyT ?...
  12. Smart things for sure and thank you for the pics and the very best of luck getting what you want mate...
  13. That it is mate for sure....
  14. Just a couple of 3 years ago i was coming back from fishing towing my boat and came over a brow of a hump and one was sat in the road,i swerved as well as i could knwoing i was towing a trailer and managed to miss it as i stopped and ran back to see if i had clipped it and i managed to get up to it and have a quick look before it just flew off..A sight along with a woodcock i could have picked up one night lamping i'll never forget as being that close to a bit of a special wild bird is a grand thing to me..
  15. Micro dots or just a plain Tab ?..That LSD is a funny old thing either way..
  16. Pretty much all the ones iv'e known have shown guarding, looking after the owner and his family traits, there not really a defensive nervy type dog,in fact a very forward dog /But you do have to get on top of the guarding bit as they live to guard you and without it it could become a issue, i personaly like a dog a stranger couldn't get hold of and a dog who'll stand in front of you should you ever need it to..
  17. The best deer for sport and eating, easy prey on the normal arable but put them on flooded water meadows and your'll see why they have the word "water" in their names mate. They skim across it when the dogs do what all 4 legs do in water they go into slow motion and have to plough through it, many a time iv'e heard lads say "that's dead" and a few seconds later there's yards gained and chuck in a dyke a few reeds and turn like a hare can do and away it's gone. Me and a pal a few years back were hitting them quite hard and were taking 3 figure numbers each season and my acd bitch had probebly
  18. Glad you took no malice in what i wrote as it was written without malice mate and your parents were right in the way they meant it to live a life by......
  19. Iv'e walk a field with John and have to agree he ain't shy on how long a slip is, once rescued his dogs from the old bill when he got lifted out with a pal of mine, once i turned up we outnumbered them and the gamekeeper didn't want to know ,so i chucked the dogs in my motor and drove off before there back up arrived.......
  20. Cracking fish for the young lad and well done him, but bit strong of you to knock his front tooth out for out fishing you mate..
  21. Iv'e a old boy who lives opposite me in a arse end of no where Norfolk village and he has a ramp up in his shed/workshop and i'd rather take my motors to him than the big car workshop/MOT/sprayers etc a mile up the road. Anything that costs good money he comes over and asks me first if i want to spend that sort of money, a priceless man to know and he's saved my arse a few times over the years and as back street as you can get and as Norfolk as you can get, wouldn't go any where else...
  22. Like i say and no offence meant by it but your not a coursing man, your a man who runs his dog to kill hares..Not being rude mate it's a fact and you say it so yourself , fare play your thing but it ain't coursing it's just killing hares with a dog..
  23. Being brainwashed does that to a child...
  24. Was at a coursing cup meet many years ago over Evesham way i think and a lot of Hares were being killed as the running ground needed cutting and the slipper who was Gary Kelly started giving Sally a good few more yards on the slip and although more were still being caught a good few made the coursing more than a run up and a kill...Mchull and that lot aren't coursers there hare killers nothing more and feck all to do with the sport of Hare coursing.....
