  1. Endgame mate i won't be owning a lurcher untill i find a acd or kelpie x,my bitch i lost was the nearest thing i ever seen or read about to an old school pot filling/mooching/companion dog. She'd see someone a mile away and let me know they were there, she'd catch a ferreted rabbit, bend a hare as good as anything else i've seen given she was a 1/2 cross(within a 100 yrd slip),brought back pigeons live, retrieve cwd single handed and without doubt she'd have put her life on the line for me without question.Might sound i'm being a bit wet about her but she really was a first class bitch in the maki
  2. Just a few pics of what my bitch turned into before i lost her. the last pic i ever took of her. gutted but she died doing what she loved doing, those cwd. Must say it was the end of sept when i lost her and not the month ago i thought .
  3. Was just looking for this old thread yesterday,i lost my acdx bitch about a month ago and still miss her.She shattered her fore leg and would have been 3 legged at best and as she wouldn't have coped with being left at home so i had her pts, have to say she was the best pup/dog i've ever owned and if i had the chance i'd swop all my other dogs for her back and not loose sleep over it.Caterpillers young dog is with a mate of his as he was a bit to on guard while he was at work but the dog is doing very, very well .I'm off to look at a litter of kelpie/collie x lurcher pups as soon as i can, just
  4. Got mine from vet order.com but you can only buy a full pack,25 bottles = 12 full sets and a booster approx £140 inc postage.Carefull though it's against the law to do it yourself .
  5. It's not that all are to scared to post just that when they have they get slated for doing so and have their posts picked to death, ain't that right wilf? .
  6. Not found pairs to ground but seen dog foxes chasing vixens twice this week on the lamp in two different places, been warm over this way mind .
  7. Grand pics and back to the top for you
  8. Have you tried maplins mate, they do all sorts of electrical stuff.
  9. Just a name used to sell rough coated lurchers, smithfield collies have been gone a long, long time now so how these lurchers are ment to have that blood in them feck knows.
  10. Lads and lasses it ain't illigal to do so here in england ,you need to learn the law.You can use a 100 hounds to search for a scent if you want but when the quarry is found you can only use 2 to flush it to a gun,if the quarry is a fox and it's marked to ground by the pack then you CAN use a terrier to again flush it or if it doesn't flush then you can legaly dig it if it's for the protection of game birds and we all know that every game bird reared or WILD needs protecting .A point of law here is that the only stress that quarry can feel from hounds is when it KNOWS it's being hunted, thats
  11. That pic was took not long after getting him mate,he looks a bit more fitter and toned now ,back out sunday for a look with them. .
  12. Not long got the blue bitch and she's young stillso only been bushing with me so far and the white dog has had a few ratting sessions but again is only a youngster but both will be tested under the earth this season .
  13. Cracking pics,my own lads don't want to know but one of my step sons is now 7 and has been coming out with me for the last couple of years and now has own ferret and nets and will be getting a locator set up for xmas,he loves going ratting as well and it's usaly a race between him and the terriers to get the rats.
  14. Terriers and owners covered in sh*te and happy as larry chasing rats ,thats what it's all about.I was out at a place we rat with a mate and his dogs,oh yeah and a gun tonight,9 big ears,8 rabbits but no rats .
  15. Congrats granddad, hope all are doing well?.
  16. Thanks lads and lasses for the comments, never seen a terrier that colour myself before her. She's standing at 13 1/2" and weighs in at 17lb,she's about 10 months or so old so should bulk up a bit in time but not get to much taller. Thanks also kiz for the resizing bit.
  17. Got offered a new dog the other day from the same lines as my russell,a young tidy bitch who should do the deed when she's older. Thanks to the grand chaps who put her my way and she's a belter who's settled right in with no bother. Not the best of pics but i tried. They were full pics but this new site thing has cut them down, load of old sh*t if you ask me this new look.
  18. Ignore that fattwat pr*ck as due to him having shite dogs and a big mouth he ain't got nothing better to do but slate the nobend that he is. Just try a few keepers who might let you tag along to clear a few cover/feed crops come the end of shooting season, pig farms are worth a try as well, good luck.
  19. Good luck in your search but be carefull as i've seen the same done and unless the artist is either very good or knew the dog that little something that made the dog who he was may be missed in the drawing and your pal might not really like the pic if you see what i'm saying?.I'd say the bigger the pic sent the better and send a few different ones for a better view of the dog for the artist from different angles.
  20. Optrex is a local anasthetic(spelling?) so just makes the irritation go and don't allways cure the problem,i wouldn't even use it on myself let alone a dog who can't tell you the irritation is still there.I use Maxitrol for any slight eye problems but if it persists get to the vets, shovel is the mastitis cream called kloxerate plus as i use this cream myself on cuts and never had a cut go bad with it,even fox bites.
  21. At least you tried mate,i went back today to a place that i have just a field to do but will allways get a few from there and stopped and spoke to the farmer and he's got a few hedge rows he wants doing and asked if i can clear his moles off his lawn.I said yes i can shift them and he remembered some more land to ferret he's got, might even get a bit of lamping out of him as he didn't mind the dogs around his cows when i was ferreting, just got to catch them moles now and allways worth seeing them face to face.
  22. Can see his dam in him and she's a nice enough bitch, don't know about that tail though
  23. Very rarely seeing singles here and this week i've seen 2 leverets small rabbit sized things about so i'd say they could still be paired up here and only just finishing breeding but saying that haven't retrieved a milky doe this year and weve had a good few. Some of the fields around me also only hold hares in one part of them, big fields but your'll never see them in any other part except a couple of small areas and these are close to houses and a farm(it's not because they feel safe there though ).
