  1. He's still at it but like i say only feeds it meal worms and only feeds the smaller one of the two mules she's rearing.
  2. Nice and neat youngsters there mate, well done.
  3. Two aviaries then one for cocks the other hens, got time now there not breeding ,well done and like reddawn says lets see some pics.
  4. I got a chaffie cock who has started to help feed a greenie mule fledgling,it's obviously not his chick nor has he had much to do with the red factor hen who's raised(she's a loose hen in my aviary and i've seen her with other cocks but not him)the chick.I have a few different fledglings at the moment in there so maybe with all the young un's calling out for food the urge to parent something was maybe to much to ignore for him,i know it's not something out of this world but it made me smile and we live and learn something new all the time.I will just add he only feeds the chick mealworms and n
  5. Bet your thinking of him while slapping yourself though
  6. I'm just surprised it took you so long to suss out who it was,he put up a pic of his dog the other day (father and son, on the lurcher bit )and i thought at the time i bet he's hanging out his little worm fishing for a bite from you
  7. Were in with shazza,i'll tell Nick about it later
  8. Same as Moss, all i ever see is my goldies squabbling but a nest of 4 to the sticks say they must get on at some point ,
  9. Get him up come winter and we'll have some time out with his litter sister, she's sharp and fast and can't wait to see her sticking to one like glue Should add they both look in fine fettle and your pup sure looks built for it mate.
  10. Last line says it all Moll .
  11. Same as you johnny, say it as it is and not all is good in the plummer terrier that much is so true but i do think a whippet x could bring to the table a bit more than either dog could bring. It'd improve the nose no end of the whippet and give the plummer that bit of pace it lacks for bolting rabbits when ferreting.I'll never do it myself as i don't need to but i would have a day out with a x like this as imo i think it'll be a handy dog IF BRED FROM THE RIGHT STUFF to start with.
  12. A plummer x whippet could be a grand dog for sure and i'm surprised there's not more about. As for best thing since sliced bread the same could be asked of the minshaws could it not johnny? :hmm:and to be honest most whippet owners i have met a future breeding is always on the cards reguardless of if the whippet is any good or not so bit of bollocks that last statement you make imo.The plummer ain't the best terrier by far but as a bushing, ratting or general all rounder they take some beating and are better than most terrier types at this sort of work, like it or not so x with a good whippet imo
  13. I got mine corrigated plastic and have a bit left open with perches under the open bit just for this purpose, also have a planted out flight with a open roof off the main flight for that more natural enviroment bit as well.
  14. It'll be better with a roof and not so much a house but somewhere they can get out of the wind and drafts is very important,in my aviaries i use artificial xmas tree for cover as well as conifer branches. The xmas tree when they get dirty i just wash it off with hot soapy water and they last for ever, well until the birds wreck them,a bird bath is also important and different feeders in different places so there's no bullying off of food from any of them with each other.I also use natural branches for perches and i just try to set things out as natural a setting as i can.
  15. Aussie flying rats sure ain't my cup of tea either
  16. Females for you mate ,best get her moved if i were you as it'll just stress out the fife hen and no good will come of that.
  17. No it's not true and if a window is open good bye bird, not sure about budgies but other finches will be fine in a mixed aviary. But like others say bin that rat trap of a cage and the bird will be better for a bit of room and thats a fact for you mate .
  18. Cracking that mate, nice bit of space for a mule in there and like the dove coop as well .
  19. This coming week end folks and the weathers looking good for it as well, should be a good old do again. CC & BS,cocky cnuts and bull shitters maybe,
  20. Yes it is still on and it's on the main road in east Colne, not hard to find at all mate.
  21. Seems to have done the job and the thin perches do help so thanks Craigyboy for the tips ,it's not 100% normal but is allmost there and good what a bit of sticky plaster can do at times.
  22. Get a mate to phone the old bill saying the men in that van just tried to snatch a child, bet they get on to it in no time then.
  23. Hedge Mumper had a merlin eve bred dog that held it's own down in cornwall running alongside the landy, seen a couple saluki types do themselves well at the old bunny bashing game.
  24. All the gear is there, just turn up with your dog and it's free to enter the show.
