  1. hear we go again!!! i think digging is sh#te...you get to see feck all and its loads of work..you enter your terrier to fox the dog chases the fox about backs it into a stop..you locate the dog dig down to it...unless you like digging holes its sh#te i dont know why you digging lads dont get your selves an alotment and at least your digging would be reworded with somthing you can eat ...... now ratting with terriers is great fun loads of action and you get to see whats going on.......
  2. i use a light force 170...have it connected straight on the battery on the landy..we did a few fields and the bloody thing packed in..i had a cluson slung in the back so we finished up with that....the light force has a much better beam but the cluson is better built........
  3. i went out lamping it all depends on what you want to do?? if your using somthing like a logan gun lamp you wont see anything past 40 yards if your using a light force you will see much further....more expensive scopes do gather more light but lamping with a rifle takes time to learn...if your used to shooting in the day its completely diferent.....i use a x5 torch and green laser for shooting rats in buildings and a big light force for shooting fox out to 400yards with my 22-250...i guess if you want a more in depth answer you need to say what lamp and what you intend to shoot..i wo
  4. weve just added a beddie terrier bitch to our little pack, she hasnt done much but is learning on every outing...we are running six terriers this season and they are still working out the best way of doing things..find it very interesting how there roles are changing as the pack settles in....my patterdale bitch was always in the thick of the action and somtimes missing stuff sculking away..now she stands back so she can see all of the action, the young beddie bitch is stuck tight in and missing a few..the biggest shock is that as a laugh we said we would use my mates moms westie, his recall is s
  5. thats a real shame, i was always led to beleve the irish dogs were the best?? is the uk lamping compitition still going ahead???

  13. as i see it, markbrick writes some fairly decent reports on his hunting exploits and has posted some decent video's....so surely he is the sort of chap you would want on the site posting??? i hunt as much as mb but wont bother writing decent posts about my trips partly to do with my writing ability and also because there are to many people slagging you off.....as for the moderating team....well hear goes......i thought they were meant to be impartial to all of us lesser hunter only moderating when needed...from what iv seen there has been open taunting and taking the piss.......i wouldnt of t

  17. yep i agree thats why we have a page for fac questions as the site is called hunting life fac is part of that and mate like me your still a newbee so please bill yer heed Do you two not get what I'm on about? I just think that in the "Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns" forum at the top where it says IMPORTANT TOPICS there should be a topic for FAC related questions. Riggers I might be a newbee on this site but I've held a FAC for years, but in the past and to date any questions I've had concerning my ticket are answered by my local FA Office, thats what he's there for. i u
  18. im not sure about scotland and fac....as for my area im sure what iv put is right,my old man is an feo and im a range safety officer, but as iv said before differant county's have very differant ways of doing things...
  19. i'll take you out, £15 hr.minimum 4hrs......got couple thousand acres of permission and can give you a wealth of practical shooting and safety tips.......you will need some insurance..ie basc or game keepers association
  20. ok hear goes,if you have been told its the amount of permission you have in order to get an open ticket you have been told wrong....in order to get an open ticket you need to have an fac for a minimum of 12 mnths and in this time you will need to show many many hundreads of rounds perchased and fired to show you have the expierience to decide if its safe to shoot a piece of ground or not...when you get your first grant the fao will have to check each and every piece of land you want to shoot...your fao will soon get pissed off with you if every week you ask for another piece of ground to be pa
