  3. great post.....i like the day for ferreting/ratting but i like the night for rat shooting/ lamping....for me night hunting is a magical time,i guess im lucky really, i go lamping three times a week atleast..i tend to shoot from a vehicle most of the time which i enjoy..but the thing that gets my pulse up and the butterflys in my stomach is lamping my dogs.the buzz starts in the afternoon and by the time iv got the dogs in the landy and we are on our way im as exited as my dogs.but ferreting holds the same buzz..iv had a 10 year break and played at it last season to see if it held the same buzz
  4. i have two lurchers..a very good friend who i shoot with regualy came out with me with the dogs..on the way to the ground i went through all the blerb you tell new people ie never slip two dogs together.....dont try to kick the rabbit if it heads back towards you with the dog chasing it because youll get a broken leg etc etc etc...we get out the van, walk into the field.i say i'll slip my dog first...my dog runs perfectly catches and is heading back to me (a proud moment!!! just got him to retreve to hand) ...feck me my other dog pulls his head back through his collar and runs after bryne..mo
  5. Fook me, more dogs for sale, how do you end up selling so many dogs, not having a go at you, but every second post is a dog for sale. why not post that underneath some of the other fellas posts! cant seem to get over when someone says MY MATE IS SELLING HIS DOGS THIS MEANS ITS NOT ACTULLY KREET WHO OWNS THEM AND SELLING THEM HIS ONLY HELPING OUT A MATE BY ADVERTISING THE DOGS FOR HIM ! cut the fella some slack! GLASS HOUSE'S AND STONES SPRING TO MIND WITH KREET!!!
  6. i hate people pissing about with for sale posts!!!! but bloody hell kreet after all the grief youve given and taken why would you want to do it again???? i couldnt care less if you deal dogs but why would you say you arnt a dealer and have so many dogs for sale??? or so many friends trading dogs.....youll need to be VAT registered soon mate.......
  7. my post as stated has nothing to do with field craft....and i find field craft is more of a feel rather than being taught or read out of a book and armed with all the knowledge in the world if you havnt got a feel for field craft it isnt ever going to happen.......i started this thread because i had a deal on a long net and a quick net,i wasnt really bothered about either at the time...i walked into one of our fields and proceeded to drop both nets,i struggled with the trad system all be it im disabled?? so to me how ever well shown i personaly will struggle with the trad system....there is an
  8. oh yes a peice of piss....grab the net out of your jacket bang a few poles in hey presto 90 rabbits!!!!!! and back to the real world.....im sure if you know your stuff its easy..so is riding a bike when youve learned!!! it took me bloody ages to get the dam thing up....never mind middle of the night in a gale!!! ITS ABOUT TIME THERE WAS AN INFORMATIVE DETAITED BOOK PUBLISHED ON THE ART OF LONG NETTING!!!!!!
  9. i have got a rat smoker, but the price of the mineral oil is a fortune!!! does anyne know what oil to use other than the £12 a gallon stuff??
  10. iv had a deal for some stuff and i have ended up with a 50 yard long net and a 100 yard quick net....i watched the gent i bought the nets off set them out so i could look at them prior to purchase....as soon as sunday came around off i went to my field to set them out...this wasnt a hunting exercise it was a getting to know the net jobby..it took me bloody ages to get the long net up,if it had been a hunting exercise the quary would of died of boredom or of laughter.by the time the net was out i was flustered and i had court my lurcher terrier and the dam collie....my veggie mrs walked past wi
  11. a mate of mine use,s one and swears by it....they tend not to damage the meat as bad as hmr......the are much better than 22lr,but im no lover of 22lr!!...the amo is significantly cheaper than 17hmr...they easily kill bunny's out to 140 yards with little drop....
  12. just because there's been a few scam emails floating about from our ethnic friends it dosnt mean that this one is dodgy!!! ....for all we know this gentleman was sitting in his mud hut and thought who can i split this 29,000,000 dollars with ..and youve guessed it...he picked you ....so send the chap your bank details (he will need some where to deposit your fortune) and possible a few £££ for admin...and you will be rich ......probabley if you do choose this course if action youll never see him or your admin cash again......but lifes a gamble!!!!!!
  13. in a few words dont bother getting one mate...there shite plinking guns....sure baldie and a few others will come on giving it big licks about the 1022.......to get a 1022 to cycle correctly and become reasonably accurate you need to change......the slide/breach/reseaver/barrel/stock/ejector mech/trigger......you already use the finest 22lr on the market so why change?? there is no place for them in the hunting field!!! my reasons for saying this is......when you look at your target you check back stop then fire!! if you miss you cycle the bolt on your 452 check back stop fire again....iv s
  14. I've just put up a post on the general section as i am thinking about offering a repair service for mk 1's have a read and tell me what you think cheers anton i think you will struggle to do some of the repairs on the mk1's?? the reason deban have stopped is that one of the chips that was used in the mk1 is now obsolete.it was spesific to the mk1 receaver....there are no plans to do another production run of the chip..correct me if im wrong,,im no expert on the subject chaps????
  15. reo and shot you both yap like your terriers!!! :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: ......ward dynasty??? iv hunted with sam and he knows his stuff...so he doesnt post pics of smashed up dogs?? why does he need too?? keep reading your earth dog running dog mags lads im sure you can both talk a good terrier..theres some pritty decent terrier men on hear that wont entertain posting pics of there dogs on an open forum......looking forward to even more cyber hunter replies!!!

  17. dont take any notice of them on hear mate.........relatoinships.................for the first six months of meeting a women, you will think she's good enogh to eat........then for the rest of your life you'll wish you had.....
  18. im not going to write a reply to this post as an authority on the subject...i have always used a mk1 and had no problems....they are getting long in the tooth now and you cant get them repaired.....after alot of messing about i have decided to go for the mk3 finders...my advice to you if you havnt used a finder before is to go for a mk3 and stick with it till youve got it sussed...if you go for a mk1 and learn to use that then go to a mk3 the change over will be harder and you may not like the mk3........mk1's are on there way out weather you like it or not the mk3 are hear to stay..so i guess
  19. iv done my 22 and hmr...it transformed the rifles......if you are fitting these kits especially when using the lighter springs be sure to cock the rifle (un loaded) and drop it from 6 inches on the butt of the stock..if it fires you need to use the next harder spring in the kit....its very important to perform the bump test on a hunting rifle.....sure everyone knows this...sorry to drone on
  20. cheers strong stuff!!!! got my three leads and collar through today...delivery was mega quick.....leads and collar are the best quality iv ever seen..... cheers woz
  21. 1 click is an 1/8 inch at 100 yards........if you dont want to waste amo bring your target into 40 yards....zero it at that....
