  2. ferrets or dogs if bred that much somethings got to give even bred to the top dog at the moment the poor bitch cant keep turning out first class pups if just used as a breeding mashine and if the person in ownership dont know what to line her with says it all

Fathom was a bit older than Merle who was the same age as Rusty according to the book merle. merle was run at the same time as penguin on fox in the book merle, so meaning rusty could have been put over penguin to breed fathom {just look at peter stringfellows lol} also in the book merle theres a picture of fathom with eddie jones and celt which is one of merles sons bred back to a greyhound

  5. cross reading books plummer mated peguin to tony ahernes ,rusty which was a first cross collie greyhound not sure if this is the litter that fathom was from? but still not sure what peguins make up is but looking at pictures of the dog i would say alot of collie greyhound in her
  6. plummer discribed penguin, fathoms dam as a mongrelly type of beast in the book diary of a hunter and goes on to say he contemplated disposing of fathams blood-line and keep a pure breeding collie/greyhound bloodline but did not want to part with fathoms family as they were true lurchers,sagacious,cunning and great providers ,also saying in merle the start of a dynasty she was a kannechor~a chicken thief, hope this helps

  8. taking ten week old kits out to rabbit is like asking a two month baby to walk ,way to young mate be patient and wait a few months will be worth the wait ,let them be babys plenty of years in them if you dont rush in to it

  12. two hobs are all right most of the year but come the breeding season one can end up a bit chewed up around the neck by the stronger hob, which can turn nasty in warm weather [the neck not the ferret] hope this helps

  17. she will be wasting all her energy on rounding up the old ferrets thinking there her young and wont be looking after her young as she would if left on her own with them, at the end of the day its hard to raise a litter let alone the extra work shes trying to do I actually think thats a very valid point you bring up about her rounding up everthing in the court, i have never witnessed communal litters so dont really know how it works but i think what you say is logical really foxy is the mother but vixen is the matenal one confusing for the ferrets what if vixen dont let foxy near the

  21. if chancing a whole litter is worth proving a point its down to you, some hobs wont touch the young but plenty will just kill them to bring the jill back in to season to be able to mate her . hope it goes the way you think it will, best of luck you may need it
