  1. once mating has taken place they go there own way
  2. from what i can make from the picture it looks like she wasnt in season and the hob may have tried to tie with her to early keep her on her own and keep her clean as that could turn very nasty quick all the best phill
  3. had to take one of the dogs to the vets today and thought i would ask how much it would be to vasectomise a hob ferret {60 to 70 pounds}and then how much for the jill jab {£6.53} he then said about useing a Qtip to insert into the jills vulva to bring her out of season, has any one heard of this or ever done it before as i would like to now if it works ,the vet seemed to think it does. not to be done by the complete novice i would add.

My other half has stuck posters all around the village too. Not sure what else i should be doing. i tried getting to dogs to find her but as i have spent ages stopping them showing any interest in the ferts it wasnt successful i see you are in sussex i have a couple of hobs if it helps you can use one of mine as also in sussex offers there if you want to try

  20. if you mean when your ferreting and she skulks when she comes out of the holes ,as its nearly the end of the season all i would do is handle her as much as you can during the summer to build her confidence up and put some pipe in her cage to play in and i woulnd"nt use a teaser to get her out as this can work against you just stand back and let her come out on her own and dont rush at her to pick her up, hope this helps Thanks "pigeonphill", yes i did mean that she sulks when she comes out of the holes. I think you pinpointed the problem, thanks again i will work on your advice. I have fiv
  21. as you say most people who go pigeon shooting go out to shoot wood pigeons and if any one cant tell the difference between the two shouldnt be allowed to own a gun let allowed to use it ,and also the rspb have installed false nest sites for peregrines [fact] and just look at the decline in song birds and say its natural balance if all pigeon men /women kept there pigeons in when the peregrines are breeding half of them would starve to death as they wouldnt find enough food to feed there young
