  1. Quality pic that ,worth the hassle of registering .My votes in mate .
  2. Don't wish to be blunt mate but the barking IS 100% linked to breeding .Its because they generally live in dense undergrowth that they need to advertise their presence and condition .To the unknowing ,it may sound like a dog barking and i've smiled when to myself when out with other people who have commented on that 'fecking dog barking'.You need to live around them to appreciate the urgency of a doe barking though .
  3. Now ,now people. Calm down ,we must learn to embrace our coloured brothers for they have as much right to our wealth as we do .They mean us no harm really and are misunderstood . Ive learnt from previous experience on here that to be patriotic is to rub some members up the wrong way so i am a convert now . Ring ,ring .Wake up foxdropper its all a horrible dream and you do hate the feckers . Ah yes ,a reality check .
  4. That gold felt pen must be running out by now .lol.
  5. Personally ,from experience ,the type of dog required depends on a couple of factors.- The health and stature of the chap following and the type of deer regularly encountered .Its no good whatsoever having a large ,fleet dog if you struggle to run a few yards .Let me expand on this .In my experience there are two types of deer finders as well as the various breeds .Some will find ,stay and bay ,which is ideal .Some will rip into the deer and maul it but neither can be taught to a dog which is usually out of sight and in cover.A few will return to you and guide you back to it .If you are unfit
  6. Nothing to do with looks mate but you wont get the answer on the open forum !
  7. Dont listen mate ,they are all jealous of your obvious talent and fieldcraft .Do what works in your situation .At least a bottemed box dosnt get turned over with a catch in it and the prize and trap , lost to a badger! .
  8. Yes mate ,and a good ratter she is too .[No good for feck all else mind ] Although i'd love to claim them as my own work ,none of the pics are from my camera .I dont have the flair or time to do anything else but get in the thick of the action .
  9. The bitch on the left is one of the strongest bitches ive owned .Started off very hard ,got a few medals ,then steadied down at the age of five years !The bitch on the right is waiting to see something yet but has developed the bad habit of marking a hole vocally but not wanting to enter .Its immaturity and will hopefully be ironed out by next season .She is also a strong bitch ,as it should be .
  10. Hopefully ,all being well, Martin will be up with me next week mate .
  11. Cheers people .The third one down is my own lurcher ,a bitch ,whippetxlakeland -colliex grey .The lurchers are very useful when ratting to pick off any long runners.............. .........................like this one .
  12. You can discount badger deffinately........never lay up during the day outside. Well rolfe ,i beg to differ mate .Ive seen many a badger bed near active settes and disturbed one or two whilst mooching .Usally made of dry grass and rounded though .Brave man that says .........never...... .
  13. Thursday night saw me back at the chicken farm to look for a fox that has been jumping the electric fence and helping itself to a bird or two . Saw a fox at range but it wasnt stopping for a shot ,no way.Decided on an early morning trip to the same place this morning and did better .Glassed the field with the sheds in and saw a fox over the far end ,apparently none the wiser .Worked out a stalk that kept as many sheds between me and it so i arrived about 70 yds off it .The light was just breaking and i had high hopes as the wind was right .Got to the point of ambush only to see charlie had
  14. Cracking vid mate ,made all the better with the bird song .Dosnt get any better than being amongst wildlife that has no clue you are there .Well done again .
  15. Thanks for sharing that mate ,very interesting .
  16. This is the truth mate .If ,in speaking to a lad ,he openly said his dog was just a ratter i would avoid the breeding but respect him for telling me the truth .Previously in the thread ,i stuck my neck out and said that a LARGE number of rats will test a dog and i stand by that .Offers have been made to people who slated me since but strangely no-one has said they will bring their little dog along for me to see 'slaying large numbers with ease'.We all know ,or should know what a terriers job is but its not the only test .If any more doubters would like to arrange a day with me in the future th
  17. Seven terriers ,four lurchers mate . .
  18. Nice to see one on video mate .Its not all about the killing is it .Is it ! lol.
  19. The smell does linger a tad but youve got to go where the sport is .lol.
  20. Ditch mate-even though rats do come in various hues ,these variations are caused by different concentrations of chicken shit .The black ones having swam the width of the liquid slurry to be snapped up as they surfaced ! A coat of that lot would certainly guarrantee a space on public transport .The dog is fine mate but the owner is down 63 quid for his trouble .
