    yeah I think we might be at cross purpose about getting a pup out and about then. And I'm not saying that people haven't ever hole ended a pup but was saying its a sweeping statement to say people that tie pups up near digs are more liable to lol .Not splitting hairs for a chance to get polemic are we mate

    Not that i do this mind but IMO if a pup dosnt get a bit excited at a dig then id say its too young to be there and if it does youve sprobably sown the seeds for a spinner ,squealer as no one in their right mind would scold a pup at a dig surely .Far better to take the pup quietly to an earth when its of an age and let it see for itself what lies within but again OMO.

    Seems to be some confusion here bud .I dont leave pups in kennels until they are ready .I walk them ,socialise them ,take them ratting but i never tie one at a dig .Dont tell me lads that do tie them arnt averse to hole ending as ive seen it .The temptation for some is overwhelming but like i said just my opinion .If you think a pup benefits from being tied and cant get then crack on ,your feeding it .

    My own time with a youngster is spent one to one and they certainly dont need to watch anything to know whats required when the time comes .Better spending time just mooching than on a lead .Owners that tie pups at a dig are usually the same not averse to hole ending ,a practice i detest where more dogs than enough are ruined but just my own opinion mind .

    What exactly is it watching because it looks bored to me .Never been able to get a pup to sit that still at a dig so any tips gratefully received .

    For the novice ......For those wondering why you never pull a dog out by its tail ,its to prevent back injuries through jarring the spinal chord .Always hold both legs and guide the dog round any obstacles.Both legs ,never one and as Dilly says never in contact .If you have both legs dog cant go forward .

    We were supprised to be honest but we dug up loads of field mice alongside the rats but only in the first shed where rat numbers were down a bit .

    They are incinerated mate .Not telling anyone how to care for dogs but dont overuse any antibiotic .They were designed for cure not prevention .

    Because neither you or i have seen the dog ,therefore could be anything .You stick to your tea bags pal but dont advise anybody else when you know feck all about the condition .Eye discharge is not confined to conjunctivitus but then you'd know that having been round dogs forever .To the OP ....let the vet see it then you will be more prepared should you see it again .

    Ignore the wives tails mate and take it to the vet .Cream will sort it in days but wipe tip before applying to other eye .Medicine has moved on since tea bags mate .Amazes me that lads wont wont spend 40 notes on a visit .

    Dry cow tubes they are known by .Used to clear up any infection as the cow nears her time to calve .
