  5. The bull x has taken over from the saluki cross from years back............ everything was saluki, saluki, saluki. Altho' i've got a second generation 3/4 bred that's doing me fine. Unlike these 80/90lb cock extentions the seem to be paraded around and used for.......... . i judged the Irish game fair this year and there was a 'fox lurcher' (they don't have a bull x class of 80lb+ and the lad said''......he can kill a fox'' to which i replied he's entitled to, he's four times the size, if he couldn't i wouldn't give it kennel space. BUT can he catch one?????
  6. The rule seems to be...................... If the pups turn out OK....it's 'line-breeding' If they turn out wonky...................It's in-breeding!!!!
  7. bastewards! bet you was sick mate. too true. Had chicks in the nest just left, and the ones they couldn't take were flying round in the trees in the garden. managed to trap a couple but lost loads...... since then not had any birds
  8. Just be on you toes mate. Typical Traveller styunt.. Knock to scope, then return later. Had it years ago at my old house... 3 Travellers knocked on my door asking my wife if i wanted to sell my birds (all british) (i was on my stagg weekend). she called me, i told her to fcuk them off out of it, she later went too tescos and when she came back.......................... Guess what
  9. A friend of mine bred G.W.P. X Greyhound which wern't too bad. smart enough looking merl(ish) coloured. But i don't know how they turned out as adults
  10. Personally i would not do mother to son. Father to daughter has been done by a friend of mine and wored out OK. (Don't know why it only seems to work this way ) I had an unfortunate lining in my kennel of brother to sister (terriere) and it turnrd out disasterous. Pups mal-formed, one born almost 'in-side-out', etc you get 'inherant genieic vigour', which is traits are passed down from generation to generation, but if you get too close it only seems to be faults that are passed down.

  20. AGREE... i'M NOT ONE FOR SHOOTING HARES, BUT GOT AN INVITE A FEW YEARS AGO TO WANTAGE FOR A DRIVED HARE DAY, (WELL, TWO DAYS ACCTUALLY), and 300 odd were shot on the first day and 320 ish on the second day, up until that day i would never condone the shooting of hares but they are so large in numbers up there it does not have an impact on their survival.... this is partly due to the amount of 'stick' the keeper got from so called coursing men..
