  6. the snow was coming down heavy so i thought i'd take the dogs for a walk down the woods behind my house and check a few earths, nothing to ground but the beagle put a fox out of some thick cover which the lurchers did'nt see, but it was good to hear the beagle singing all the way through the wood. god knows why it was laid up on top in a blizzard right at the side of a big rock pile:( .
  7. darcy got me thinking with the vanilla ice lyrics i toured around the world from london to bombay............. its hammer go hammer mc hammer yo hammer...................... and the rest can go and play......... mc hammer....cant touch this
  8. with young dogs etc i usually start by letting them into the front garden (low fence and gate) with my other dogs and shut the gate, then i walk up the street away from them, all the other dogs clear the fence and follow me which the young dog will see. usually by the time i've got to the end of the street the pup has scrambled over and will be galloping towards me. i do this 2 or 3 times a day until the pup is clearing the fence with ease then i start the same routine in the back garden where the fence and gate are much higher and once it is clearing them with ease i start in the sheep fields
  9. When you say joints mate do you mean the join to the body.Tails have no joints, they are made up of bones ,36 in all, which get progressively smaller towards the end.If the baldness is at the join to the body then it probably started off as a flea problem.Even when defleaed regular this is where they irritate the dog most .Some dogs lick or bite this area out of habit after a flea attack.I take it the area is not red and inflamed or you would have said. i mean where the bones in the tail join each other (knuckles) there not red or imflamed just bald ?
  10. nice one my mate bolted one with a ferret about 8 year back on a railway bank, it shot out the earth and dropped straight back into another about 20 yards along the bank with no dog behind it or anything, so he sent for the terrier etc while he stayed and guarded the holes

  14. one of my lurchers has been loosing a bit of fur from his tail mainly on the joints each one is becoming bald ?.he is'nt loosing any fur anywhere else just the joints on his tail so i was wondering if anyone here might be able to give me an idea whats causing this and what should i treat it with. his main diet is raw chicken and bone ? and he his flead and wormed regular and his bedding is also changed regular. p.s my mate has a lurcher that has never had any fur on the joints of its tail in all the years he's had it but mine as just recently started going bald ?
