  1. And from the Netherlands. Have two bothers and sisters in law living in BC and the Yukon. Nice bunch of people around this place, you'll like it
  2. I fish where the water slows down, so after the rapids. Small fish get stunned and become prey of bigger fish waiting in the current for easy bits of food. You can use a bobber or a strike-indicator as you can see in the film. In Holland we don't have trout (other than in stocked ponds) so I do this kind of fishing while staying in France in the Drome area (Between the Alpes and Ardeche)
  3. Sorry to hear about your loss. There's great interest in vintage BSA air-rifles, in good nick they could make some decent money. All depends on their condition. Good luck with the sale on behalf of the old lady http://www.network54.com/Index/105071
  4. We do the same only not with rabbits but with 30 year old blondes
  5. The Netherlands aka Holland. You're better off selling a kilogram of cocaine than snaring a rabbit in this country..... We even have a Party for the Animals, and I'm not kidding you (sadly, it's true) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Party_for_the_Animals
  6. Use them in France whilel catching trout. When you watch the river from above, you see white spots where the trout is hiding in the riverbank. White spots are gravel brought out by the trout while enlarging his / her hiding place. Big lob-worm or minnow works great drifting along the hiding spots. Baiting tip with roadkill works also good as slip lead explained
  7. Jealous ! You have it so good. Over-here you would get jailed for putting up those wires and there aren't enough rabbits to do it anyway. Would love to get some lessons by Woodga
  8. Never thought about that one Tiercel, I've caught six of them in a live catch trap in my neighbours garden in the last couple months. Takes up to two / three weeks before I catch the next one.Shoot them with a .25 air-rifle, head-shot which make them bleed rather seriously. Thought that smell of blood would attract them even a bit more. Have to rethink that one.
  9. Thanks for sharing, great scenery and nice crop of rabbits
  10. The classic art of marksmanship
  11. My favourite style of catty. Call me old fashioned but I simply like them. L to R Lucky Seven by TK in steel & micarta (8mm green tube) Milbro classic in alu (5 mm solid square) Brass / camelbone (2050 double looped tube)
  12. Yes John, as it once was Have one of those Milbro's myself. Makes my feel rather nostalgic, shooting that one with the squares on it, reminiscing the good old days . Still afraid of hitting my thumb (way to big hands for such a small catty )
  13. Yep, was lucky to find some old antlers in a bricabrac shop which fitted in nicely. Connection made with threaded bar between antler and wood, epoxied it in, really strong. Don't see that many good (equally formed forks) antler, so have been lucky finding them.
  14. Sadly can't sign, no British Citizen But with you on this one all the way !
  15. This one I made for a friend in the UK, called it " the Jägermeister " because of the boar pin on the handle. Made of an antler grip with a cherry fork.
  16. PA you're right, the right one is an antler fork with a hazel grip.
  17. Like a long, light draw, still enough speed and comfortable to hold.
  18. Thanks Greyman, really like the traditional styles Just to prove yours went to a good home Pinned and tubed ! Will give the Theraband also a try on this one, when the tubes need replacing.
  19. As you can see on the left one in the picture, instead of tying the tubes on top of the fork, you double them and put a metal pin in to secure the tube.
  20. Got a f***ing lot of these things, and I still have a lot of hair on top Big fan of a paperboy's flat-cap, I owe that to The Peaky Blinders (8/4's as they are called correctly)Trapper fur hats, Trilby's, Panama's and so on. Even wear one in summer, to keep the sun out of my face. Makes one really stylish......
  21. Yeah, one of the really great ones. As Blackbriar said his role in " The Elephant Man " was so impressive RIP Sir John Vincent Hurt CBE
  22. Sometimes it's quite handy having subtitles for a foreigner, all those awful English accents... But I watch them without any subtitles on the tube He's not claiming to be a pro, still learning a lot everyday. Seeing how he puts them traps out, is very educating to me, even more green than he is, trapping wise.
