  1. How does that work Neil? I've not heard of it being used to keep parasites away? Does it have any other values towards the dogs health?
  2. I've always found if you get them used to it from an early age they soon adapt and get used to it.
  3. You are blessed to have such digging mate . Up around where I usually hunt the earths range from big ancient dungeons to tight stony and rooty places and also plenty of red sand too in places. I'm not saying it's a all doom and gloom, but to never miss? I've honestly not heard of it before.
  4. There's a million and one reasons , its not always black and white. From educated stuff that knows the craic to tiny vixens that will squeeze 20ft up a rabbit tube to get away from a dog. If you are saying you get everything, every time. Then you're the first terrier man Ive known to say it.depends if your doing it for sport or for pest control. I would respect the foxes efforts and give it best if it managed to squeeze 20ft up a tight rabbit tube were the dog hadn't a chance of fitting.I'm just giving examples.
  5. Good foot plates on the roundmouth and the boots should be fine.

  7. To reach every fox you'd need a 10" midget mate. Some of the vixens from Xmas onwards can crawl up their own arseholes. We've all dug them where at the end you're scratching your head as to how it squeezed up so tight. But they do.
  8. No matter which boots you pick, my advice would be to clean and polish them often. It takes 10 minutes and really does make a difference to the life span of your boots.
  9. The highs were all the good days, spent in good company and enjoying the craic, aswell as the dogs putting in some good shifts. The low for me has to be a young dog not making what I had hoped for after a promising few digs at the end of last season. But that's terriers.
  10. F*** FD I wouldn't mind a season like that! Where a dog failing to reach the quarry was the low point!lol
  11. For digging I'd say Glockners. More hardy and built to last.
  12. F*** Goat you want to try talk to them when you're English! I've tried a couple of times and been totally ignored as if I wasn't there. They're an odd bunch.
  13. Most farmers are like that. Totally nuts.
  14. That's what sets terriers apart from any other breed IMO Fatman. The willingness to seek and engage an animal that is at home, stronger and more ferocious and also in the dark! It takes some heart.
  15. I'd personally avoid Le Chameau. Great for wellies crap for boots. I have Meindl's at the minute and have no qualms about them.
  16. Isn't the idea of writing a book to share your own stories? That is sheer desperation and quite embarrassing tbh. All about the money surely?
  17. Plenty of good, hard worked black rough coated dogs about Neil that are bred to the bollocks. Take your pick.
  18. Someone who uses this site but dare not write anything for fear of ridicule .A well known author and writer of hunting fiction .I think everyone thinks you're talking about JB? But could it be SF?Does Frain use the site ?I was guessing. JB then?

  20. Why don't you give us an idiots guide to what's going on FD? Because I honestly can't make any sense from the posts you put up?
