  1. Seventy years ago today Britain declared war on Germany. The nation was told at 11am on the wireless: Take a few minutes to think about the full implications of that.
  2. If you post anything that could be incriminating, be it photos, threats, or admissions, you are likely to end up in trouble. It's not just the hunting ban you need to worry about either. All potential offences will be monitored, including poaching. If you think an anonymous user name will somehow protect you, you are kidding yourself. Some users make themselves a target by using names which quite obviously suggest that you partake in illegal activities. So you lads and lasses that are so fond of telling everyone how you poach should beware. Be sure your sins will find you out.
  3. Members should be careful as you do not have to register to read the 'general' section of the site. It stands to reason that there are lots of members of the site who only registered to read the forum. There are thousands of registered members, and only a few hundred that ever post. Think carefully before you post anything, anywhere.
  4. I'm sure you mean pre-ban? You also have to remember that ground game (rabbits and hares) can also be considered to be pests, and that the only legal way to control hares is to shoot them. At this time of year there is only a short window before new crops are planted to get numbers down and prevent damage to winter cereal crops. You may believe that running dogs are the best way to control rabbits and hares, but others have a right to believe otherwise. If you reduce the numbers of rabbits on your permission during the winter months, then there shouldn't be too much for the farm
  5. Bees, bumble or otherwise, are NOT protected. BUT, you would be better off leaving them alone. Feral Honey Bees, Bumble Bees and Mining Bees are not aggressive and are in decline. They should not be killed except in exceptional circumstances.
  6. yeah this happened to one of mine the snare cut through its leg and was stuck in between the 2 bones in its leg! dont ask how! and it was still alive it was mingin haahaa Hilarious.
  7. As I said in another doomed thread, a little bit more tolerance and understanding would go along way on this site. When I joined, there was plenty of threads about sport, whichever sport you participated in. People were also able to post personal and other issues up in the general section and get helpful, friendly advice. Many friendships have started from here. These days, there is suspicion of everyone, caused by a minority of small minded idiots, hell bent on their own agendas. We've lost lots of really good members, and many others just can't be bothered anymore. On the trap
  8. It depends on the set, but usually 3 inches.
  9. I had a beautiful rangie with a VM engine. It started playing up almost straight away, and we had the head skimmed and a new gasket. When that failed to work, we realised the block was cracked. I had a chat with my cousin who works for LR (I'm a mechanical dummy) who told me the VM was the worst engine they ever used. The saddest thing is that I was so disillusioned by then, I just sold the whole thing for peanuts. Wish I'd kept it and had a 200Tdi fitted - had 90's with 200Tdi, 300Tdi and TD5's, and the 200Tdi was by far the best.

    Creosote

Creosote is still available for non-domestic use, or use by professional users. I'm reliably informed by the manufacturer that I'm classified as a 'professional user' so therefore I've just bought 50 litres to do our fencing here. Lovely smell....................
