  1. He’s a completely different person in real life to the internet. I’ve met him a few times and get on with him and he sure knows his running dogs ! Cheers.
  2. It’s not far from Hull to Horden, only about 100 miles. He could trot the dogs there in a couple of hours ! Cheers.
  3. The fawn dog is out of this greyhound bitch, Ive just realised I was offered a pup out of the previous mating, but the bitch absorbed the pups. It was a tidy little greyhound, only 56lb Cheers.
  4. Max is asking if the mC cup is definitely going ahead as he’s looking forward to bring his two dogs ? Also there’s an Open whippet racing meeting at Horden , Durham on Sunday . There will be lurcher racing aswell, so, mC , if you fancy coming up, you could get a timed race against Max’s dog, a timed solo run or I could maybe arrange a race against a non/ped for you ? Cheers
  5. The initial burst of speed, acceleration, is important in hare coursing aswell, and nothing is faster of the mark, out of the box, of the slip than a non- ped. with my bitch being 28 1/2” and 75lb the best option to bring the size down a bit and keep or improve the speed in the pups would be a non-ped, not a greyhound, but that’s only my opinion. Someone wanting to increase the size and speed may be better off using a greyhound. Everyone had their own thoughts and opinions. Cheers.
  6. Many years ago I had a very good non-ped. , I’ve told this tale on here before, I match raced it against a track greyhound over 150 yards straight and won by two lengths. I then ran it again over 270 yards and led up to about 170 yards then the greyhound took over and won by around two yards, much as I expected. If the race had of went to 440 yards the greyhound would have won by more. There are a few non-ped whippets x greyhound that beat full greyhounds over 270, and one or two hold track records over 270,but they are damn near greyhound size and weight. It’s getting monotonous now
  7. As I’ve said countless times , the sprint distance; 150 - 200 yards. No, they haven’t got great stamina, No, they won’t kill 3-3 hares, No they won’t run a hare for 4,5,6 minutes. Why people are comparing them to coursing bred dogs baffles me. Im saying they will add speed to a coursing type, IF that’s what you want. Cheers.
  8. I’ve long considered myself the modern version of the biblical Job, who god rained pestilence, tragedy and disease upon him to test his faith ! I still have faith in you, no matter how much you test me ! So, no, not a bite…..I’ll continue my quest, against shaarks advice, to try to educate you. Cheers.
  9. Don’t you f***ing start aswell ! LOL ! Cheers.
  10. He’s like one of those Japanese soldiers fighting on long after the war has ended, refusing to believe it’s over ! But I won’t, I can’t, give up on him ! Maybe I’m being punished for something I did in a previous life ! LOL ! Cheers.
  11. I’m talking about R A C I N G dogs ! Can you not get that into your head ? They are, as I’ve continually said , the fastest dogs in the world over the sprint distance. Why to you keep mentioning plough , etc. ? I’ve never mentioned them being great hunting dogs, I’ve talked about using them as a stud over a hunting type to keep or increase speed. Ive been in the game a very long time but I’ve never met anyone with such a closed mind and so breed blind ! LOL ! Cheers.
  12. You’re starting to convince me, mate, before it’s too late…not for the bitch….for me ! LOL ! Cheers.
  13. I’ve never heard it called that. “Local “ or “round the doors” is what I’d say, but I didn’t think it was separate types of dogs. Is there specialist types of dogs for running local or travelling away ? Cheers.
  14. Got to be when MB’s Kat , a little lamping lurcher , beat a coursing bred, future Forley winner , in a coursing match ? A real “David and Goliath “ sporting moment ! Cheers.
  15. Today was 160 yards straight racing on grass. Please, PLEASE , don’t start on about slop or plough or flint , or winter seed….. ! LOL ! I posted about non-ped race dogs that I might use as a stud . Cheers.
  16. Come up and race one of them . Cheers.
  17. That fawn dog is beating greyhounds on the track over 440 mate, and the black dog is so fast over 200 it could do the next 100 at a trot and beat any saluki coursing bred ! LOL ! You think of whippets, but these aren’t the roach backed, shivering things you see, these are running machines. Cheers,
  18. In the grand scheme of things it probably won’t make much difference, but in my own mind four is just a good age, she’ll have had three full seasons of work and still be relatively young enough to get back into shape and have many more seasons of work. it’s only my own opinion, wether it’s right or not, I don’t know. I never knock anyone for what they do with their own dogs, within reason. I know Australian lads breed their dogs from a young age and when I asked why they said there is a huge rate of attrition from things like heat, snakes , boars, etc, and good dogs don’t make o
  19. I’ve had plenty dogs gifted, I’d rather gift a dog that would get used than sell one that didn’t. Shes just came out of season,I didn’t want to breed from a three year old, two season bitch, another season under her belt should be ok . Cheers.
  20. I’m undecided, but if I do you’ll have one gifted, and Tomo if he wants something a bit bigger than his whippets ! Cheers.
  21. They are . They are non-ped whippet x greyhound. The black one is 25” , 50lb. The fawn one is 26”, 55lb. Cheers.
  22. I was just looking at two prospective studs this morning at an Open Whippet Racing Competition ! Two of the fastest non-ped whippet x greyhounds in the country ; Maybe next time she’s in season. Cheers.
  23. A pal of mine won Olympic golds at 400 metres and 4 x 400 relay, at the ‘68 Olympics in Mexico. I asked him if he took drugs, he said of course he did, everyone did back then. He said doping and altitude were the reasons so many records and personal bests were set at those games. His record for 400 metres stood for twenty years ! Cheers.
  24. That’s his job , mate, he’s the secret restaurant critic for the Sunday Times ! Cheers.
  25. Again, well spotted; my bad ! Cheers.
