WHOS YOUR FAVOURITE FOR THE LAMPING COMP?
chartpolski replied to thurso jack's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Rabbiteer, your childish adoration for Mark is touching, (if a bit sad and creepy !!), you didn't have much credibility before, with your constant attacks on the competition, but now you have none at all !!! Cheers. -
Heard of the Black Helicoptor Conspiricy Theory !!!..... But never the Black Bunny Conspiricy Theory !! LOL !! Cheers.

Are they over weight?
chartpolski replied to Lurcherlovr's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Why do you take your dogs there, if they can't work, have to be muzzled and the farmer threatens to shot them ??????? Cheers. -
Amazing how someone who didn't have the confidence in their own dogs ability, and didn't enter the competition, is now telling the people who DID enter, how to run the competition !! As I said in previous posts, it was a call only the ENTRANTS on the night could make !! Sitting in your warm room, in front of a PC, you wern't in any position to judge !! Cheers.

Well done to both of you for getting the heat run !! I know 1st hand the difficult decision it is to run a heat when the distance travelled, condition of the ground , and lack of rabbits, has to be balanced, most importantly, with the dogs welfare !! A good honest write up !! Cheers.

Pakistan isn't the Middle East, and all the people I know who fly their dogs from Arabia to Pakistan hunt wild hare and gazelle. They wouldn't dream of "park coursing" captive hares, but thats not to say it doesn't go on !! As we know in that area and Central Asia they course captive wolves and foxes, so probably hares as well !! Cheers. I never said Pakistan was the middle east I was addressing Leeviews point regards Greys in Pakistanm as a seperate point to the middle east and Kazakhstan point raised by HW. I would'nt attempt to challenge you regarding your experience of the M E

good dogs from the UK (or somewhere else?) went back to the middle east and couldn't cut it? Yes good fen dogs from the uk were apparently bought and taking to middle east and couldn't cut it not surprising really considering. Thats no discredit to fen dogs they simply are'nt bred to handle that or the hunting I do up here. Well, I'll ask you, MH, where in the Middle East was this, as I've never heard of it ?? Cheers.

Coursing greyhounds are taken over there for coursing its fanatical and the owners are nt allowed to run for money purely for the sport and recognition Y.I.S Leeview Lee, can you tell me which Middle East countries import greyhounds and course them ?? I spent half my life out there and still visit regularly, and most of the Arab peninsular guys run their salukis in Pakistan or North Africa, as coursing is banned in most Arab countries. Cheers. Pakistan and India both have coursing federations Y.I.S Leeview Sorry mate, I'm obviously reading it wrong; I thught you were sayi

Get the best you can, probably a 240 blitz, 'cause you can be sure if you get anything less, his mate will have a better one, and he will want to upgrade !! Cheers.

These forums sometimes bring out the worst in people, but this Lamping Competition has brought together people from all over the country, from Scotland to Cornwall, young and old, male and female, rabbitting dogs and fen dogs !! We're meeting old mates and making new friends !! There was a few who thought it wouldn't come off, or degenerate into argument, but they have been proved wrong !! People travelling hundreds of miles, people opening their homes to strangers, people giving up their time and permission....... all to make this comp a success !! Whoever wins it will be very proud, but whoe

I've spoken to LDR, 'cause as you can imagine, I'm not happy about the outcome, but he says as long as we had equal slips, albeit only three each, the one that caught the most wins ! It was a very hard call to make, wether to run or not,; any othe time I wouldn't have went out in these conditions, but the lad travelled 6+ hours on a train for it, so I couldn't let him down !! The same land has, usualy, pleanty of game, but the near arctic conditions meant nothing was about ! I'm gutted it ended this way, but what could I do ? Cheers. Well done mate gutted for the other lad he came 6 hours

Lamping dogs cannot be tested over three slips, like hare dogs; but when these things are planned, we can only hope for the best as far as weather and quarry are concerned ! I honestly would have liked to see pleanty of slips with a big bag for each dog, but we just have to accept these things. Cheers.

Well, just about everything conspired to stop this heat going ahead !! LOL !! Woodga was supposed to host and judge it, but he is suffering from broken ribs, made worse by taking a couple of tumbles again last night, during his own heat !! I saw him today, and the guy is in pain, how he competed last night was beyond me !!, but thats the measure of the man, he didn't want to let anyone down !! Anyhow, a top guy stepped in at the last moment and offered to host on his permission and judge. He called me at 5:30 and said get here by 6 as the frost is settling and the ground is hardenning up !
