  1. Been feeding my 5 on pig heart for over 18 months with no problems, rabbits their staple in the winter but the warmer months i'll keep them on a bit of dry food & give them pig/ox heart overnight & remove the leftovers in the morning.
  2. Had both my hobs snipped in 2008, one was fine but the other ended up with a infection & he had to be opended up again. He had a bollock removed & had to have 2 lots of meds syringed into him twice a day.Cost me £200 to get him put right but as we know all operations involve risk.
  3. Liam, you should put in for the same amount as your .22....got them both off Northumbria no problem meself
  4. People don't choose generally .17HMR over .22 rim fire. Both have different qualities and many people choose to use both. A moderated .22 Rimfire is very quiet and much more suitable where noise may be an issue. A .17 HMR will provide the extra 100 yards when shooting rabbits/crows etc but with the distance come the crack of the bullet. Wind is also a factor the HMR bullet is affected much more than the .22 rimmy as is cost of the bullets (HMR being more expensive) I own both as there are two separate farms I shoot where one is more suitable than the other. Seeker That's it in a one
  5. I always gut the rabbit then open it right up to check for tapeworm cysts & bin the liver if it has liver fluke.Would'nt want the rabbits shitbag busting in the court,it's minging
  6. No difference in my .17 with Hornady red/blue....it's the same round as far as i'm concerned. They've finished the blue tips & the yellow tip is in vogue for 2011 don't know how much extra that'll cost
  7. you were just a EXTEREME MESSER anyway ...keep in touch & as ian said there's plenty of shooting/ferreting to done between the 3 of us if you fancy it :friends: .
  8. It was a good day B....them rabbits were to comfortable in that warren...not a care in the world .I must remember to mind my language when on camera tho
  9. 2 LURCHERS FOUND AT BISHOP AUCKLAND TODAY.CHECK LOST & FOUND SECTION!!

  10. Had to stop today at the CANNEY HILL roundabout at 11:20am today to stop a young beige lurcher pup from getting flattend by the lorries on the above roads. The pup looked like a Saluki cross, approx 6 months old & beige in colour.Anyway as i got him off the road ANOTHER Deerhound cross dog appeared, approx 26" ats, white & dark brown colour with a collar on but no ID tag. Both dogs were freindly & looked relieved to be with someone.I managed to stop a ambulance car & she radioed for a police van to come & collect them. In the heat of the moment i forgot to take a photo of th
  11. Was running my 75 & 100yd (6z) quicksets with 100% did the job but this year i changed them over to fibreglass poles & put the bagging upto 150%.They've bagged the rabbits a lot better in the limestone quarries & banks i work, not much level ground to be had for me
  12. I can only put the FA Cup performance of Sunderland today down to the players not willing to put a foot in as there's a small matter of the Mags coming to SoL next Sunday. On paper we should've beat NC but that's the beauty of the FA Cup,always a upset on the cards .I ain't looking forward to the derby....got a feeling the Mags are going to win
  13. Don't think the Fat Controller will let him go....YET.Once you B & W b ds are safe he'll probalies be sold in the summer.I have to admit through clenched teeth the lads done well up to now but he's got to keep himself out of bother when he's"DOON THE TOON ON THE LASH" :vava: :alcoholic:
  14. Win subs £35 per 500...that was before the 2.5% VAT increase Don't want to think about the cost for 500 .17 HMR Hornadays
  15. Could'nt agree more Malts, loads of the buggers all over my housing estate not many on my shoot tho
  16. We used to do the Lambtons railway,Fatfield riverbank & Penshaw Monument when we were fearless teenagers(mid 's) .Got a few close shaves with the Intercity 125's & the odd keeper but looking back we were very lucky not to have our collars felt .Also used to do a bit on Hendon railway & dockyard ...man those were the days
  17. More you keep on at them, the more they may make you wait .Took 14 weeks with Northumbria for me.Have they said yes to you for a FAC??
  18. Owned both AA410c & R7 Tyrolean, both great guns but build quality goes to the R7 but the price reflects that.Don't think accuracy is any better between the 2(IMO)...in the field i spent more time worrying about scratching my beautiful Tyrolean stock on the R7 .I've only handled a HW100,well engineered as expected but felt angular & too heavy for me,but every gun fits everyone different
  19. The sheet netting should be selvedged when you buy it...mine was. However if you want to add a heavier twine, there was a topic done on it a while back on here.
  20. Been there mate & it;s heartbreaking because you know they won't be looked after the way there used too. These f rs who steal ferts, dogs or anything for that matter are lowlife. It's the sign of times now,why bring something on or buy it yourself when you can just go out & steal it from somebody. Hope you can get them back but it very rarely happens
  21. Use a Edgar Bros one meself,a couple of quid cheaper than the Harris but solidly built & no different from the Harris (IMO)
  22. NOW SOLD PENDING PAYMENT...... I'm selling the above due to me not using the kit as i've been shooting rimfire since last September. The gun is .22,c/w AA silencer,1 mag & is in excellent condition, blueing is 100%.There's a couple of light scuffs on the bottom of the pistol grip but these would take no removing. It's shot around 1200 rounds in the last 3 summers & i did'nt use it this summer. The Logun stirrup pump is in excellent condition & working order. The scope is a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20 x 44AG with the Nikoplex(duplex) reticle. There's a lined gunbag, around 800 prepped AA Fie
  23. He's doing bits & bobs...just like me AS
  24. The missus ferrets with me occasionnaly but she has no hesitation shooting rabbits her best this year was 101yds with the HMR.She'll not pull the rabbits neck but will quite happily put .17gr lead earing into one at 2500 fps
