I think you have worded it correctly John, i think you are much more likely to produce a good lamping dog then a dog capable of hunting up to a high standard, and as you say, jobs for dogs

Being that close to fozzy bear would certainly increase your heart rate and also the need for stain removal!!! Seen them on video running and they sure move fast, faster than those hounds over bursts i'd bet and faster than i could climb up a suitable tree

Its a diiferent type of hunting, imo it takes a special dog to work cover at distance, use its nose and work a fox upto a mile from its handler, find, flush and then catch and kill it, saying that the dogs on that dvd didn't impress me with their "finishing ability" but there work rate was very impressive........ Pre ban not many lampers dogs could of worked the fells like those, and to counter that i very much doubt those dogs could of been lamped single handed on charlie, certainly not in numbers

Really nice people carrier, been looking at them in auto trader tonight, that looks a beauty but i wont be getting a new car till next year, best of luck wih sale........

How hard is it?? :wallbash: Right the word, or write the word Now i have had no dealings with fishfish either way, there appear to have been a few little niggles about service but also some good feedback, all i'd say as outsider looking in is that a couple of poor reviews about customer service and quality and personally i'd be looking elsewhere , i was disgusted and taken in by a kennel company on here and once bitten and all that...............

Just a little question to throw a spanner in the works.......what if pre-ban you and a partner do lamping on foot and perhaps only come across a couple of foxes a week, your dogs are capable single handed but you may only get two runs on charlie a week, its it so bad to have doubled up??

sounds like some dogs youve seen there and some tackle by the sound of it pal did you own said dogs ? Owned one of them, my lamping partner owned the other, all pre ban.............

As has already been touched upon i'd be intrested to know if the internet has been detrimental to the working dog? Now folk can turn a dog into a legend where as in the past it would of been witnessed working to make a reputation no it only takes Cedric in his mums pantry with her laptop and a few school chums and its the next rin tin tin, just a thought......... -
As others have said, it won't really affect the dogs working, although its slightly disturbing you have owned and Airedale for years are can't spell the breed

If this story is correct, then to me it dont matter if it was a .243, pellet gun, shotgun, gat gun or scud missile, only a prick would be thick enough to do it and bury a live dog, poor f****r.......

The dog was put over a good bitch but she didnt take and it was assumed he was firing blanks later in life, the bitch was spayed after a disasterous pregnancy...........
