  1. nice looking dog, be nice to see him when he's been conditioned! He has the frame and coat that you'll be able to see everything on him
  2. Nice to see some good jumping pics!
  3. And Monkey is the light of J's eye, he loves that little dog!
  4. It's not the ginger that bothers me, it is the gay ones that are the problem
  5. Lyra is super agile, deceptively so. Completely non agressive at this point (well unless you include a little 3 way kennel fight I had the other day ) , she didn't show too much interest the few times we've shown her things. But she is only about 15 months and some just start late, so I'm not too concerned right now. Very obedient, I only had to show her things once or twice and she had it. Put her behind a fence and she will guard (livestock, dogs, bunnies etc) but loose or on a chain and she doesn't bat an eye. Jigsaw just bring a whippet or bull whippet or something with you when y
  6. got the picture sizes fixed ...
  7. I have not run him on one, coyotes aren't my thing, I leave them for to J mess with (although J would dump on one if the situation was right). I'm confident he would be good on them but I've put too much time and work and blood and tears into that dog, he is pretty good about injuring himself on his own anyway. And we have other coyote dogs on the yard, let them have the big stuff!
  8. I've enjoyed following the thread, keep us updated when he starts his season!
  9. Thanks for the comments folks, they are settling in for the spring and will enjoy rolling in the grass for a couple of months until we get them ready for the season. Agro is just from some digging lines, J brought him back from a trip to visit his family 4 or 5 years ago.
  10. J asked me to put these pics of the dogs ... mine: Noose (SalukiXgrey imported from UK) freaking incredible dog, he can't be faulted except he gets bored easily. Run him for 10 miles, put him away, 30 minutes later he is screaming to get out again. Best feet either of us has seen on a UK dog, speed, drive, he has it all. I wish I could lie and say I bred him, but the praise goes to someone else! Tia (SalukiXgreyXstaghound) 24" wicked wicked wicked fast, I mean scary fast. Noose and Tia Feather (staghound bred by Tomkat) 25" she is decently fast and
  11. Dan mine aren't first crosses, they are both about 3/8 5/8's
  12. how is it with people, kids, and dogs, and is it stockbroken?
  13. Thanks for the ideas, I will pass the info along and hopefully we will get it worked out in time for next season!
  14. Has anyone has more fuse issues than typical with the 6mil LF (170 I think) ? As in 3 plus fuses per night? Doesn't matter what vehicle we are using, weather, temperature etc.
  15. Problem is the dog already has the taste for mutton. I agree with the others who say that either the collar or a pissed off ram being the only options. Problem with the collar is they are expensive and the timing must be perfect. The ram idea also has a possible drawback because, depending on the dog and the chosen ram, the dog MIGHT actually win, or at the very least learn what to do better the next time if the ram doesn't punish the dog as intended. And then you only have the last solution to the problem. Good luck, out of curiosity do you know the dogs breeding?
  16. As others have said as long as you have enough room for the number of birds you should be fine. I have 12 regular hens, 3 regular roosters, a reverse trio of frizzle cochins, 3 bantam hens, 8 ducks and 2 ganders. They tend to stay together in a few groups and the rare scuffles are quickly over. I enjoy my mixed flock a lot, the size and species varieties makes it all more interesting.
  17. What are some favorite/best soaks out there for a particularly bad foot gash?? Just plain warm water/salt, epsom salts, watered down iodine ... what are the favorite remedies out there?
  18. I'm not surprised but I still feel terribly let down ... Is there truly no justice in this world???
  19. Anyone out there have Yemeni bloodlines in their running dogs? I have read that the breed is believed to have originated in Yemen, but seem to mostly hear of Iranian, UAE and Iraqui imports?

    Daffodils

ours are JUST starting to pop up, just the first inch or so above ground. But it has been c-o-l-d all winter with only one break in the weather in December for a few days when normally every few weeks there seems to be "nice" days here and there. And now it has been wet and particularly miserable for the past 2 weeks, so although it has been warmer, it has been dreary. Can't wait to see my first blooms!
  21. I have a south russian and have never has a more easily trainable dog, show the bitch something once and she just does it. Agile, hardy, natural guarder, she really has won me over. That being said she is way too drivey to just sit about, has to have a task.
