  1. Doc how much did that wolf weigh? and yes Kye still talks about using his spear on bear, boar, puma etc ... he'll do it all some day!
  2. very cool Doc, love your pics.
  3. I saw my first one about a year after we moved to Missouri, thought it was pretty so I told Kye and showed him the area, we saw them again and then Kye told me how shy they are and how lucky we were to see them! Saw some again the next year, but haven't seen any for the past 2.
  4. Ever since some stupid cow totalled my Subaru, we've been down a vehicle, so have had to make do with what we have ...
  5. Seika seiko I don't f*****g know I bow to your knowledge Dan
  6. pride almost killed Kye but he broke one of his hands for the third time, and that coupled with the other hand being broken twice before he just finally had to start wearing them when it gets that cold ... of course I wear gloves when it gets down to 50 I'm a bit cold blooded from my years in the desert
  7. LOL yeah sure, you come on over in deep winter and we'll see what you say after a few days if you are an honest man
  8. assuming they were going with the watch theme (as in "Timex" watches), isn't it "Seika" not Saker? Hmm or maybe it was like "Saker Falcon"? Shit, I don't know!
  9. Well i say it did. As did about 6 other people. What have you got to say about that? does it look clean to you or dirty? that's all i said wasn't it? I would assume the dog was rubbed down after running, its not like they just smacked a coat on it and shoved it in a dog box

    pick of the litter

I'm coming from a performance dog background so my opinion is probably retarded to some, but I've found it has translated well to working dogs (so far anyway). Assuming the pups are equal physically (no bite problems, balanced, etc) To me having an open mind is the biggest thing ... if you go in with the attitude that you HAVE to have a male/female, the smallest/biggest one, a certain color, coat etc you will ignore other pups that might be perfect for you and have more important qualities if you would look at them all equally as if they were naked. Go more than just once, I personally like
  12. firstX sal/greys might not have rough coats but it is quite common in down lines
  13. I was watching Southpark when I typed that, if I could photoshop Dans head on Big Gay Al's body it would have been funnier
  14. %? That doesn't sound right, but then again I suppose it may be? My dad was military so we all had ours as children, but thinking about it now I don't know many people who do? To cross the borders to Mexico or Canada or go on a cruise ship you have to have one, so more people probably have them now then before.
  15. we used to see it loads when I did rescue and sporting dog competitions, it got to be where we were using an intranasal vaccination every 3 months, that was the only thing that kept our dogs from getting it. Haven't vaccinated for it in 5 years now that our dogs are rarely around a bunch of other dogs and we never board. The intranasal vac. was called "Intratrac" and came in a vial like regular vac, mix the two solutions and squirt the stuff up the dogs nose. The jab type just never seemed to keep it from infecting a few of the dogs which is why we prefer the nasal. We never saw any qui
  16. Thanks for the info Bosun, would you happen to have any pics you could smack up here? I will put a few up of our dogs feet too. glad to hear about John Dan, I didn't realize he was bigger than Stitch when you started talking about him?
  17. heyya Ben Noose is doing well despite the multitude of injuries he keeps incurring ... in the past 2 weeks he has gotten road rash from his hip to his hock, gash in his foot, roadrash again same leg but on his hipbone along his back ... one thing after another! He is just too fast for his own good, he needs to learn to control his body though. It has been in the mid 90's for the past week and last night it was 87 at 10:00 pm ... no way are we taking dogs out in that! On Sunday Kye and I were walking the running dogs up the lane and Noose bushed up a rabbit, he flipped upside down twice alon

  20. stuntman do you know the approximate years those old pics are from? VERY COOL PICS!
  21. DFK forgot to add the guys that come to ours to hunt do not sleep much thats for sure, because there is stuff to run day and night, and often driving for hours and hours to get to different areas or to meet up with certain people. I am not lying when I say it could be digging in our barn or running stuff 5 minutes up the road or 20 hours on a long long long straight highway each way sometimes. One time Kye and I drove 30 hours each way for some groundhog hunting ... now that was crazy. And about single handed staghounds- Big Gay Dan's yellow dog Stitch is one, the dogs behind all of our sta
  22. glad you are enjoying the pics guys, I've had some time to go through pics and we still have more to sort so there will be more later I'm sure. The coon population in our area (as I'm sure everywhere else) is cyclical, 4 and 3 years ago there would be 3-5 per sette (even had I think 3 on a summer day one time while out with FR) and running all over the roads, and the farmers were screaming so Kye hit them hard with ratkilla and FR mostly. 2 years ago a bad spell of distemper hit one big area and we struggled there to find anything alive. Last year was better but the population was still dow
