  1. some good advice there mate but with the retreiving as has been said limit it or completly leave it til she has finished teething,when you do continue shorten the distance or just start at the beggining short stuff close to you and realy fill the dog with praise and confidence and most inportant dont over do it three to four throws three times a week to keep her in the swing is enought to much will just souwer a dog.as a matter of interest how is the dog bred.
  2. the vet you spoke to obviously know nothing about lurchers,good advice would be find one that does for future reference your bound to need one at some point,spend as much time with it as possible they bond fast and hard as a rule and love you for it,use any excuse to call as has been said meals what ever but never for nothing i could go on for ever find a good book on the subject read and follow you should not go wrong,all the best doga.
  3. If you have your own income & its been made clear by your parents that the dogs your responsibility then it should be seen by a vet thats up to you to deal with that issue . If however your dependent on your parents still then its up to you to badger one of them to take you & the dog to the vets take the advice no need to ask more questions.

  5. i think your right mate,a dog should quarter a field to nock up rabbits that alone drives them to your net,you wouldnt see a dog go out at night to bring them back to you,dogs dont need to run on to fare just need to realise the net has the job coverd.
  6. alot of what comes over from ireland bred for track and field good big strong dogs,looking at it there dosnt seem to be alot of small greys about like their used to be.only what i see though and im not on track side or in racing kennels like some folks.

  19. as fare as im aware if you dont have permision to be carrying out the control of any animal on any ground because it all belongs to some one you can be procecuted under the hunting act.
  20. chickens and guinea fowl do live well together ive had um together for years and the broodies have hatched tha guinea eggs and reared them,any chickens will go with pheasants just watch the cocks they can dominate at feed times.
  21. just as above and if you get one a little stubourn febuary and lambs bring agressive mothers theyle sort a pup.

  23. there are definitly dogs around doing a bit just depends what it is you want,the guvner was english cross and his parentage would not have been just anything.
