  1. Good post . I think your giving yourself a head start with generations of producers behind a litter, even if there's no guarantees
  2. What about a coursing bitch x non ped ? . I owned 2 . And I'd have bet them to beat an out and out courser or a hard blood on a 200 yard slip on heavy . Best of both worlds at times
  3. I think we're missing a point here . On any given day real heavy ground can turn to good going in 6 hours . If we are to have top animals then they need to be able to run on any conditions underfoot. That's a true dog imo . However imho the heavier the ground the tougher the shift . Look at it this way . Try cross country running on good going. And then along sand dunes . You will know . But a plough lizard will struggle on bald grass ... fact . Greatest saying ever ... horse's for courses. Merry Xmas
  4. I would say so on smaller land , steady type and bald grass . Yes
  5. Strong pup that . Best a luck with it . What's its lines
  6. I only have his excellent runs to go off . Videos . It's the dogs brain I admire . I'm sure there were times where his style actually went against him . I personally run dogs out of romeo . So the bitches you mentioned of sankys are more to my liking . I reckon it's more the man behind the dog your getting at . Would I use Lucky over one of my bitches. No pal . But I do admire him
  7. It certainly was . Look how it slows down and let's the dog at him going to the left . Then pulls 10 /20 yard going right . It certainly had somewhere in mind . The dogs style was unreal . Look how he's still spoken about to this day . Did he produce anything even half as good as himself ?
  8. Lucky was more intelligent than most so called dog men lol
  9. They might need landing gear . If they have a brain and control their speed. He's onto a winner. Good luck . That's a similar way bred the wee buzz dog you liked tomo
  10. Aye they are crap . No good size land ,and they don't get run enough lol
  11. Get his swimmers tested before the bitch breaks . Will save a lot of waiting etc for possibly nothing
  12. Knew a 15 year old to sire a very good litter
  13. Good gear that . All the px products ( ornikil etc ) kill most pathogens. Kills covid 19 on contact
  14. As has been said before , a fast dog that runs slow . Good wind and mouth and your half way there
  15. Stiffy, I think Ian is talking past tense . As the man says he hasn't owned a lot of saluki xs. And more than likely compared the saluki hybrids of the 80s when I'm sure he was at the game hardest . As you say wee bob sharpened the mongrel bred bitches he went to up . I have had 2 out him and both very good dogs . But to say one of them was the best in the country, no , I haven't seen most dogs go . Run Annan myself, and whilst you can get a good hare anywhere . I do find a higher percentage of Mr rights pop up on the far south East Coast of Scotland . Again its all opinions. Enjoy your do
  16. I can only go with vids etc .and a lot of footage was France and ploughs .
  17. Jmo , but steadier types can loose out on run jp to a bit cover and loose sight mate
  18. Edited to say , I heard bully wasn't endless like bog for instance . Totally different types
