  1. my bitch was black as a pup but now she's a grey colour now, if she's that colour now i'm sure she'll go lighter
  2. unfortunately i think all this unwanted attention to the thread is going to cause what looks a cracking dog to be sold in the free ads or cmw to some one who's unaware of it history that it was owned by a plonker! shame. hope the dog finally finds a good permanent home but unfortunately with a price of 250 i think he'll have a few probs!
  3. :clapper: :clapper: i think they'll make cracking allrounders
  4. i think that you have less wastage if you can call it that with 3/8ths bull 5/8ths bull greys as the racier ones will turn out like 3/4 crosses and the heaviest ones like half x's and i think its why the 3/8ths 5/8ths has become so popular as not so long back it was a choice of 3/4 or half x's. as for the 3/4 cross more likely to jib on stuff, this has probably got to do with the rubbish greyhounds used. Alot of boys breed a half x dog to a free to a good home greyhound (failed for whatever reason) and expect good results, don't get me wrong some good dogs have been produced but they are
  5. cramp have you been teaching the dogs in sincronised walking ? I WISH THEY WOULD SINCRONISE LISENING THE DEAF b*****ds have you had tegans tail in a vice?lol i told you anytime i'd have her back
  6. I think lucky summed it up, but there are things sometimes out of our control like a young pup entering on a fox just exercising the dogs etc it can cause a pup to jib and threfore not making the grade of a foxing lurcher pre ban,but cases like that are in the minority. there are some idiots breeding nervous or unsuitable dogs that which doesn't help if you've bought one and was unaware of it until the parents traits come through after a while!
  7. Hi, just thought i'd ask people opinions on how many lurchers is to many? i'm of the thought that 2 working lurchers and a pup either or a veteran retired is enough even if your out day and night. Plus if you go out with your mates who have dogs you could end up with more dogs than runs! Can people justify keeping more? i know there are exceptions such as the coursing boys possibly, and the other thing is does the standard of lurcher get worse the more you've got? by this i mean due to less one on one time and less runs per dog does the standard slip? just a few thoughts and i look forward to
  8. Whats wrong with people! just because he's got good pup's at agood price then people say he must be desperate! the same people would be slating him if he had put them up for £250 saying they were over priced! as for the boys who say its to far or wish i was closer all i can say for pup's of this quality you'd still be getting a bargain if you had to put £75 into the car! you could get a return on the train for that from most places! lets face it most of us don't live on farms and pup's can annoy the best of neighbours so i can understand how the pup's are need homing asap, good luck w
  9. don't get me wrong i think rabbits and but especially rats are the bread and butter for the beddy's but they should do the job they were bred for and thats foxes and other biting vermin. As for putting it upto a fox and see what happens that could be done and said for any terrier, i mean that a russel free to a good home in the adtrader might do a fox but i think we've all heard of exceptions that work but on the whole worker to worker produces a higher success rate in litters, as its a selection of certain desirable traits. As for the rabbiting beddy litters then i've no doubt some will do th
  10. They're good strong pup's! its good to see proper worker to worker pup's as most litters you see advertised have solely rabbitin parents living off a "yeah the grand sire was a hard earth dog but the dam and sire have only seen rabbits and rats" type of attitude that'll eventually water down the proper foxing beddy earth dog blood. I think beddy's should be bred more responsibly like other breed's (fells, patt's etc.) whereby earth dog to earth dog, worker to worker are bred, this in turn should keep the true working beddy blood alive instead of turning it into mix mash hit or miss type dog
  11. hey good luck with the pup's! real quality bred pup's
  12. that bitch is a ringer for my bitch pup, good luck with her
  13. i only just realised the rabbit trying a sneaky get away from the jacket pocket! lol
  14. any picks or do you know her height? cheers
  15. is it line bred like your misses said to roland rat? ha ha serious though, crackin lookin bitch
  16. i remember when he was that size running around your kitchen, all legs and head! he's filled out now though
  17. there was a guy who bred a deerhound to his bull greyhound halfx dog about 8 or 10 years ago but there was only one bitch pup which came out rough coated, all the others to my knowledge were red buckskin coloured smooth coat. my point is does anyone know enough about genetics to shed light on how many pups on average would be rough coated out of a litter of this cross? coz the pursuit of breeding a rough coated bull x could have a high wastage if you could call it that? cheers griffo
  18. the wheaten x greys have a double coat, with longer guard hairs but with a thick shorter insulating coat which mite be a better choice to improve the bull x's coat for harsher conditions possibly? but the deerhound would give the size to the bullx that many would want plus giving a bit more speed? only a few thoughts, what do you think?
  19. hey tey're a steal at that price! i hope they find good homes and the peddlers don't have the cher~ching signs in they're eyes!
  20. cracking looking dog that looks like he could shift! all the best with him
  21. I think the reason hunting life was shut down had nothing to do with somebody bringing to light a dogs history as you do live so far away, i would of personaly appreciated someone local sheding light on the dogs history before i bought it, but it questionable the way he went about it calling arthur a mug! throughout this thread the money and jamesy's integrity has been questioned and this should not be clouding the sale of the bitch, who looks top class, i know you don't want the comments on the thread but it is a forum? but i'm sure that the whippet bitch will be a cracker if you do decide
  22. cracking pups, good for legal quarry and perhaps the odd thung thats not! ha
