  1. Welcome to the world of rimfire! Massed produced ammunition that uses heeled bullets will always have these issues, it's why it was kind of dropped in the larger Cal's of yesteryear. Crimping uniformity can be compromised with heeled bullets over bullet in case designs. Then there is the possibilities of irregular priming!
  2. Deker, if I was to lay down for that long I would nod off!
  3. A 15 year old lad I befriended on a shoot ended up being a work colleague for several years. We had loads of shooting fun and banter. He now has his own kids and loves them to bits. Him and his wife are active shooters and so are his children.
  4. That's is just brilliant mate. Well done you ?
  5. Good stuff. The first shot may of touched something on the way. Don't take much!
  6. No mate. With its long barrel it's quite quiet.
  7. It might explain the missing! Just a thought. I am ambi dextrous , it's weird. But I can not shoot left handed for toffee. A friend of mine is a true right handed person but when or if called upon he can shoot perfectly left handed! You have some nice places to walk stav.
  8. One of the reasons the grey partridge is missing in vast areas is from the same predation. The pheasant egg is an ideal example of all the species that are prayed on by the out of control predators. Sod public opinion, they don't see the decline in the grey partridge, meadow pipet and lark! The raided fly catcher nest, the visiting warblers, or don't they matter, bloody foreigners.
  9. Found this discarded pheasant egg yesterday. Nothing particularly special about that I know but when you turn it over you see there is more to the story! It now becomes clear it was a victim of predation. By a member of the crow family I think? Look closer and it appears to have a small feather stuck to the shell. So it may of had a chick in side and or came from a nest! Hunters see the wild for what it is, read real. Others see the wilds according to their own image, their ideal, read not real!
  10. They seem to be active again. Took a six hour hike today with rifle and camera in hand, no rain for once! SD.
  11. I bet that rifles got right crack to it....
  12. I never thought it a harsh recoiler. More a good shove to the shoulder.. Good ear protection makes it much better to shoot too. Many I know didn't!
  13. Left side... Shot on the left side...anyway, how reliable is it and what ammo?
  14. Excellent choice. A mate has used one for years. Seen him shoot rabbits at 500 yds with his. He took scores of deer. The longest was a red stag at about 400 yards. The 130 BT passed through the rib cage completely. Did you know the 6.5 Swede and 270W are actually closer to being a true 7mm round than any other cartridge named 7mm (including .275Rigby)!
  15. What! You mean I can't shoot them any more? Chuffin Eck....
